Evie turned to Amy. “Was that rude?”
Amy gave a slight nod. “I think that was rude,” she said, playing along.
Parker looked Evie up and down and took a little extra time inspecting her long legs. He looked like he was mulling something over, but she didn’t know what. “Would you like me to turn around so you can make a total assessment?”
“Sure,” Parker said. “Cos I thought that was allowed seeing as you ladies were doing it. I’m a leg guy, and you have very nice legs.”
“Her legs and your muscles, your kids would kinda look like chickens,” Amy said.
“Kids?” Parker said, unsure how they got onto that subject so damn quickly.
“Kids?” Evie asked, echoing Parker’s sentiment. “I think I’ll pass.”
“What?” Amy said. “Wasn’t that what we were doing?”
“No,” Parker said.
Evie slowly shook her head. “Nope. Whose side are you on?”
“Dani’s,” Amy said, smiling. “That’s why we’re here, right?”
“Right,” Evie said, eyeing the shifter.
“I met Dani,” Parker said.
They turned their amusement on him. “Did ya sniff?” Amy asked.
Parker looked confused. “Why would I sniff?”
“To see if she was your mate?” Evie said.
Parker took a slow, deep breath through his mouth, not his nose, and narrowed his eyes on Evie. “Am I supposed to go around sniffing witches?” he asked.
“Hell no!” Amy said.
“Not near us,” Evie said.
“Which is what I thought,” Parker said. “I try not to breathe through my nose around strange females.”
“Strange?” Amy said, pulling her head back. “Look who’s talking.”
“Not what I meant,” Parker said.
“Well, I’m glad to hear that,” Amy said, looking at him as if his wolf had just appeared. “You keep that sniffer to yourself.”
“Always do,” Parker said.
“So, you don’t know if Dani is your mate?” Evie asked, frowning.
Parker frowned. “Dani?” He shrugged. “Why?”
“Just something someone who isn’t Dani said,” Amy replied.
Parker nodded. “You two are a little – you know? Witch crazy.”
“Us?” Evie said. “Nope, pretty normal for witches.”
“So, I’ve got five minutes,” Parker said. “Do you want me to sniff you?”
