Just as I was about to fire my response back to his shit remark, I quickly reminded myself that Lily’s mother was still in the room with us. When I turned in her direction, I could see her watching at us with a curiosity before speaking up. “I think if Lillian feels safer with them around, then they should go with her, Vitale.”
Vitale let out a chuckling sigh. “Fine. Fine. You want to come with us? Then come. Maybe I can show you just how a woman of Lillian’s caliber should be treated.”
Two hours later we were stuck in the back of Vitale’s limo with him yet again. The hardest part was having to watch him with her. Against our better judgement we promised Lily that we wouldn't cause any problems today after she assured us that it would be us that she'd be choosing in the end. She just needed time to figure out how to let Vitale down easy and reveal what we were to her to her father, because her mother? Yeah I already know that woman was on to us like a bloodhound on to a fox in a hunt. If she knew it had to mean that she was okay with it, but it was Lily’s father that we all had to worry about. After we sat by and watched the love of our life out on a lunch date with that prick, I couldn't even tell you how glad I was when we got back home. Vance and I could now finally stop taking turns holding the other one back from pounding that assholes face in every time he touched what we deemed as ours.
Walking out the back door to our spot by the pond, we all sat down, both of us trying to push the earlier events out of our minds and just be with her. “Is your back feeling better, sweetheart?” Vance asked.
“Yes, but another part of my body is aching.”
“Really? Where at? Maybe I can massage the pain away,” he said to her in all seriousness.
Searching the area to make sure the coast was clear, she grabbed a hold of his hand and slowly lifted up the summer dress she wore, shoving his hand under it and up towards her pussy. “No Lillian! You are going to listen to me, young lady. You will not embarrass this family with such disgrace! They are to leave right now, and you are to never see or speak to them again! The shame you have brought upon this family is unforgivable!”

“No! You will marry Vitale and make good on your duties to this family as my daughter and that is it!” He turned his angry stare on Vance and I. “And as for you two, you need to pack your bags and get the fuck out of my house before I forget that you rescued my daughter and make you disappear, capisce!”
“Papa No! I love them!” Lily yelled out at him, silencing him.
Shaking his head he stepped towards her, causing Vance and I to close in on her sides. He leveled at us both for assuming he might harm her. “Don't you step up to me like you need to protect my own daughter from me! I'm the one who needs to protect her! Protect her from men like you that just want to use my baby girl and then toss her away like garbage!”
Cupping Lily’s face, he said. “baby girl, you don't love them. They did nothing but used you, took advantage of your memory loss and your need to depend on their help.”
Tears started to streak down her face at her father's words. “No papa, you don't understand they...”
“Enough! They are to leave, and you are to stay.”
“Mr. Marchetti I can assure you that our feelings for Lily are...” I started to say but was abruptly cut off.
“I said enough!” Looking behind him, he motioned for the four men to step forward with the flick of his finger, reminding us both of just how powerful and deadly this man really was. “Escort these two to their rooms, help them pack and then I
want you to take them straight to the airport and buy them two one-way tickets for the next flight available to Texas. Lillian, you’re coming with me.” He pulled her away with him, her tears continuing to fall as she looked back at us over her shoulder with utter devastation and broken eyes that mirrored my own, leaving Vance and I surrounded by four rather large, armed men.
