Ripping his hands away from my face, like he'd been burned, Vance quickly stood up and walked past Brice. “Yes, we are. I just came to see what was taking her so long but she's ready now, so let's go eat.”

Dinner was noticeably quiet and very awkward that night with conversations seeming forced. It made me wish Mack hadn't gone into town for dinner because we could have really used him to break up the tension filling the room; that was so thick it was almost stifling. We're all attracted to one another, but no one would admit it. With that thought floating through my head, I began to wonder just how much longer I would be able to stay here with them and deny the way I was beginning to feel about them both, knowing those feelings may never be returned.

Maybe it was time to just try and figure things out on my own.
