“And what information would that be Mr. Gatti? The whereabouts on Miss Marchetti?”

“No, it was on a personal matter, Agent Walker.”

“Did you ever care about her, Mr. Gatti? Or was she just a pawn in yours and her father's dealing's?”

“I cared for her very much and was upset when she went missing.”

“Yet you got engaged to her sister only a month later? That doesn't sound like a man who’s worried about their fiancée disappearing.”

“That was strictly business.”

“Is that what Miss Marchetti was to you? Business?”

“No, she meant something to me. She still does. There's nothing I wouldn't do to get her back.”

“Including having her kidnapped?”

“When was she taken if you don't mind my asking?”

“Earlier today.”

My eyes widened at the fact that she'd been alive this whole time and didn't even try to find me or contact her family. And if Gustavo was hired to take her, who the fuck had her all this time? Or was she hiding from all of us? But then if she were, why the hell would Camilla go through all the trouble of hiring Gustavo to take her if she wanted nothing to do with myself or her family in this merger? Snapping out of my thoughts, I heard the Agent call out my name. “Mr. Gatti, did you hear me?”

“I'm sorry, what did you say?”

“You looked surprised when I said she was taken today.”

“That's because I am. I've been trying to find her for months now. Look I know you think I'm the one who's behind this whole thing, but I give you my word that I'm not. I care very much about Lillian and would love nothing more than to have her back home with me where she belongs.”

“I think we are done here Agent Walker, it's clear that my client has nothing to do with Miss Marchetti's disappearance and wants her found just as much as you do. So either you charge him, or you let him go.” My lawyer abruptly spoke up, trying to end this.

Eyeing me closely, trying to decide if I was telling the truth or not, he let out a breath, leaning back in his chair. “You're free to go for now Mr. Gatti, but don't plan on leaving the state anytime soon until this case is solved.

Smirking back at him after he’d uncuffed me, I handed him my business card. “I wouldn't think of it, Agent Walker. As soon as you know anything, I would appreciate a call.”

“I promise Mr. Gatti, if we find her, you'll be the last call I make.” He muttered, glaring at me before I walked out the door shaking my head at his lack of respect for my concern.
