After Tanner finishedgiving us the tour of the cabin, he, Vance, and I all walked outside together. "So, how’s this going to go down? Are you three just going to wait things out up here or have Kelan start digging for information?"
"He's already on it." Vance replied. "I have him digging into everyone that had any kind of contact with Senator Watson." As if right on cue, Vance's phone rang. "Speak of the Devil," he said, holding his phone up to show it was Kelan calling before stepping away to answer it.
"So, the infamous one that got away, huh?" Tanner stated, quickly changing the subject, and smirking at me.
"Yeah, I was dumb once but that won't happen a second time, that's for sure."
He Patted my shoulder. "That's good. I'm probably the only one who knew how fucked up you were after you two broke up, and I don't want to see you go through that shit again, so don't mess this up, you hear me?"
I chuckled at his big brother talk. "I don't plan on it."
"Shit!" we heard Vance shout as he walked back up to us, ending his call. "Did you know Pablo has a brother named Luciano?"
"No, I didn't. Do you think Hudson or Agent Larson know about him?" I asked.
"I don't know but I'm having Kelan contact Larson and find out because this could not only come back on you and Keira, but all of us that we're involved in Pablo's death could be in danger, including Presley."
"Let's hope Larson gets back to us soon then." I told him, knowing that this whole thing could be a lot worse than we first thought.
After we bid our goodbyes to Tanner, we both agreed to keep the news of Pablo's brother just between us for now and not upset Keira any more than we had to. Especially after that migraine she got in the car on the way up here. As we walked inside the cabin, we could hear music playing over the sound system and made the song out to be I put a spell on you by Andy Lenox. Walking to the kitchen doorway, we found Keira moving around, seemingly getting things together for dinner. Turning around to walk toward us, she gasped from the surprise of finding us both standing there staring at her. "You guys scared the shit out of me!" she said, grabbing her chest with a chuckle that slowly died off as she clued into the desire I knew Vance and I both held in our eyes for her right now. Swallowing hard, she looked towards the front door. "Is... is Tanner gone?"
