Who am I kidding? I’d rather feel it for sure. I just can’t.

But another drink in, and I’m ready to have some fun with him.

Standing on my tiptoes, his hands on my ass, I bite his ear. “You know what I can’t stop thinking about?” I ask.

He tilts his head instead of answering.

“That first night together,”

“When you had my dick in your mouth?” he whispers into my ear over the music.

I nod.

“That’s good to know.”

I nod, not quite knowing what I expected him to do.

Kissing up my neck, Ronan reaches my lips, capturing them between his. Devouring them. And then, when I think he’s done, he takes my whiskey, taking a sip before kissing me again.

The whiskey mingles with our tongues, drowning everything else out.

If someone had mentioned doing this to me in any other circumstance, I would have thought they were absolutely insane. Maybe even gross. But here, right now, experiencing this with Ronan… this is one of the single hottest things I’ve ever experienced in my whole life.

He clutches my hips like I’m his lifeline. Like I’m his oxygen, and he can’t get enough. Like the second he lets go, he’ll die of thirst.

And it occurs to me that I feel free. I’m not. Not quite. But I feel like I am, and that has to count for something.

TWENTY-FOUR

RONAN

Sydney isdrunk out of her mind, and we have a plane to catch in 9 hours.

I leave the girls on the dance floor, heading back to where Brandon and Zach lounge in a booth. Brandon has always let Elena do what she wants. If she wants him to dance with her, she’ll let him know. Right now she’s having too much fun with Jerry and Sydney.

“You’re fucked, you know that right?” Zach tells me as I sit down, a shit-eating grin on his face.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I lie. I know exactly what he’s talking about.

“Yes, you do. You know exactly what. That girl has you around her little finger, and you’re eating it up.”

I nod. “I think you’re right.”

“What are you going to do?”

I shrug. “I do whatever she wants after this. Either we go our separate ways, or she wants to stay. It’s totally up to her.”

“You’re not going to try to convince her one way or another?” Brandon asks.

I shake my head from side to side. “Nope.”

Brandon took us home early so that I could get Sydney at least a little bit sober before our trip tomorrow.

“I think I’m feeling okay,” she tells me, a wicked grin across her shiny lips.

I give her a kiss, quickly pulling away before she can get her hands latched into my hair to keep me there.
