A lump caught in my throat. “I miss her too.”

Dad nodded tightly. “And sometimes, when I look at you, I just remember how much fun you two had, laughing all the time with your movies and tv shows. I guess I wanted you to have that kind of love, someone who shared that fun stuff with you.”

I let out a deep breath. “You know, I used to think I wanted someone silly and fun, like Mom.” Then I shook my head. “But Ben—he’s solid. Real. Honest. He’s like you, Dad. Deep down, I think that’s what I need.”

My dad sighed, then laughed quietly to himself. “I reckon that makes sense, too.” Then, suddenly, Dad pulled me into a bear hug, his flannel shirt rough against my cheek. “All I’ve ever wanted was for my boys to be happy,” he said gruffly.

A lump formed in my throat as I hugged him back tightly. “Thanks, Dad.” I wasn’t entirely sure what my dad thought about my relationship with Ben, but something had changed, and I left the stadium that night with my heart full, excited about the future ahead.

As long as Ben and I had each other, we could weather any storm.

The night air felt cool against my skin as we approached my house, a soft breeze rustling through the trees. The warm glow of the front porch light beckoned us, casting a comforting light against the dark sky. This house had been our sanctuary, a place where we could find peace and solace, a place where we’d fallen in love, and I would miss it.

It was like I was already saying goodbye to Austin.

I followed Leo inside, the familiar scent of home enveloping me as we stepped into the house. We made our way to my bedroom, sitting cross-legged on the bed. Leo pulled out his laptop, showing me potential apartments and rental houses that he had already researched in Phoenix before I even got the job.

As Leo scrolled through the options, I chuckled at his buoyant optimism and faith. “You really did believe in me, didn’t you?”

Leo turned to me, his gaze filled with an overwhelming sense of pride and love. He reached out, taking my hands in his, and said, “Of course I did. I never doubted for a second that they would snatch you up. They’d have been crazy not to.”

His words washed over me, filling me with a deep sense of satisfaction at this love we’d created. I leaned in, our lips meeting in a kiss that spoke volumes—gratitude, affirmation, and deep commitment. But now it was time to address the unspoken question. “But what about us, babe?” I asked. A vision of us together, in a new city, exploring uncharted territories, danced in my mind.

Leo had dropped hints, but now it was time to say the words aloud, to make our intentions clear.

“What about us?” Leo repeated as he closed his laptop. “Well, I know this is fast, but I don’t want to be somewhere where you aren’t.” Leo pulled me closer, our bodies pressed against each other in an intimate embrace. The warmth emanating from Leo’s skin seeped into my very core, grounding me in the present moment. “If you asked me to move to Phoenix with you, I would say yes,” Leo whispered, his breath tickling my ear, sending shivers down my spine.

“How can I ask you to do that?” As much as I loved the idea of us starting fresh together in a new town, Leo’s life was here. His family, his job, his friends. “After just a few weeks together?”

Leo lifted my hand and brushed his lips against my knuckles. “You’re not someone I met a few weeks ago, Ben. I’ve known you since I was twenty. You’re my best friend and the man I love, and I’m not letting you leave me without a fight.”

I shook my head. “I’m not fighting you.” Then we locked eyes, realization setting in for both of us. This was a forever kind of love. “We’re moving to Phoenix.”

“We’re moving to Phoenix,” Leo answered, then leaned in and kissed me, his hand cupping my cheek as it deepened. Kicking off my shoes, I leaned back as Leo settled his body next to mine. “I guess we need to celebrate,” he added, smiling as he dropped a kiss on my nose and started unbuttoning my shirt.

I wanted to smile back, but by this time, my desire for him burned through me. “I’ve got an idea,” I murmured as he peppered my face with soft kisses.

“Hmmm?”

“Tonight, I want you inside me,” I whispered, my voice rough with need.

Leo pulled back immediately, and his eyes widened with surprise.

“Yeah.” I didn’t bottom often, but tonight I wanted to show Leo how much I loved and trusted him—and I wanted him to pound me into the mattress. My hand slid down to Leo’s crotch, lightly scratching his groin. “This. I want it in me.” I licked my lips as I looked back up at Leo’s stunned face. “Been thinking about it since I first saw this monster.”

“You sure?”

“Yes,” I told him, then smiled at that delightfully goofy confused look on his face. “I’ll walk you through it if you don’t know what to do.”

“I got an idea of the mechanics,” Leo said with a chuckle. We started undressing each other, slow at first but then faster as the anticipation built up. Leo’s gaze never left me, his desire clear in his every movement until he lay next to me, naked and powerful, his thick erection in his grasp.

My fingers curled around his shaft, amazed at its size and girth.

Leo groaned, his arousal growing beneath my touch. Then— “Let me take care of you first,” he murmured as he knelt between my legs, his tongue grazing the length of my cock, and a moan escaped my lips as pleasure shot through me.
