He smiled at hersnarl and came to sit on the edge of the desk, one long denim-cladleg swinging. "I want to absorb all the costs for the doctor'sappointments and everything else."
"I haveexcellent insurance. Is that all?"
"No."
"Look-"
"I want to seeyou later."
"You’reseeing me now."
"I want to havea private moment with you." He shrugged. "More than amoment, actually. An hour, two or perhaps the entire night." Hiseyes slid over her face slowly. "I want to make love to youproperly this time. With your clothes off and your naked body next tomine."
She ignored thespiking of her blood pressure and the roaring inside her ears.
"Let me thinkfor a second. No."
"I want you."
"You had me andnow it's over."
"Not by a longshot and you want me too." He was crowding her and she wasn’tgoing to be able to resist him.
"That might bethe case, but I don’t like you."
"No?" Asmile touched his lips as he rose. She started backing awayautomatically, the chair stopping her progress.
"I have a staffmeeting-"
"This won't takelong." Hauling her against him, he crushed her lips, fingersmassaging her neck. His tongue tangled with hers and he could feelthe fierce need shuddering through his body. He’d told her hewanted her but that was far from the truth. He needed her and wasn’tgoing to deny himself any longer.
Dragging his lipsfrom hers, he bent his forehead to hers and took several breaths."That was me giving you notice." He told her thickly. "I’mnot going away, darling. deal with it." Letting go of her, hewalked out and slammed the door shut.
Sliding into thechair, she felt as if all her whole body had been liquified. Leaningher head back, she closed her eyes and fought for control. She had ameeting to attend and was going to have to gather her composure.

He bided his time andwaited until the weekend. She had a big wedding to deal with theSaturday and would be off the Sunday and the Monday, which wasperfect. He’d take her away Sunday morning, even if he had tokidnap her and put her in the car. He’d waited long enough tobe with her and wasn’t going to wait any longer.
With that in mind, hecalled Caleb. "I know you don't think much of me, but I needyour help."
"I already toldyou no."
"Look, I’mplanning on taking her away for a couple of days. Somewhere quiet-"
"Where you canseduce her?" He demanded.
"Precisely."He said without hesitation. "I need her and am tired of thisskating around and we’re going to have this out once and forall."
"How the hellare you going to get her to go with you?"
"If I have totie her up and put her in the vehicle, that's what I’ll do."
"What do youneed from me?"
"Pack a bag.I’ll be there on Sunday morning to pick her up."
