“Ooof, easy there! I’ll come willingly, but you got to be gentle with me. I’m delicate.”

When Sam reached the dance floor with Sally, Ricki snorted. “About as delicate as a rock and nearly as dumb.”

Holly raised an eyebrow, smirking. “Well, well. Was that a note of jealousy in your voice?”

“Absolutely,” Ricki admitted, and Holly’s jaw dropped.

“You and Sam…?”

“A couple of times. Fantastic lay, but likes to cuddle and you know me.”

Holly giggled. “I think you cuddled with me.”

“You were too sweet to say no to.”

“Then why the jealousy with Sam? If he’s so annoying.”

“Because I’m itching for a good time and the man is that and then some.”

Holly took a sip of her drink. “If it helps, I don’t think he has an ounce of interest in Sally.”

“Hmm, probably not. Sam likes the chase.” Ricki glanced over Holly’s shoulder with a grin. “Speaking of interest, you sure about the whole loathing Declan thing?”

“Absolutely. Why do you ask?”

“’Cause he hasn’t taken his eyes off you since you walked into the bar.”

Holly sucked in a breath, instantly regretting the involuntary action when Ricki’s eyes sparkled.

“Such a little liar, Holly Winters.”

“Fine. There’s still a speck of interest he hasn’t crushed.”

“Then why are you over here pouting instead of making him nuts?”

“I’m working up to it. I told him off earlier and it still seems like he got the upper hand.”

“Oh, so this is a power play.”

“You’re kind of annoying, has anyone told you that?” Holly grumbled.

“Never. Now stop your stalling and handle business. I’ve got drinks to pour.”

“Have a good night, Ricki,” Holly called, picking up her soda and sliding off the bar stool. She glanced around the bar, searching for anyone else to sit with, but Merry waved her hand in the air. If Holly walked away now, it would cause more speculation about why.

Weaving her way through the tables, she pulled up a chair next to her sister, which happened to be situated right across from Declan.

“Hiya, Holly,” Tony called with a smirk. “How was the parade?”

“It was fine. Got to dress up in a costume and throw candy at kids.” She shifted her scowl from her brother to Clark. “While you two were here getting lit.”

“Not me,” Nick said, holding up his half finished beer. “I’m the DD. Pike’s been plying Declan, Clark, and Tony with drinks though. What’s that you’re working on, Dec?”

Holly quirked a brow and met Declan’s eyes for the first time. “Yeah, Dec, whatcha got in the glass?”

Declan tipped back a shot of something green with red sugar on the rim instead of responding.

“Pretty sure that one is an Elf’s Sugar Stick,” Pike said.
