Faster and faster, I pumped her as Avery jerked her hips toward me as she came.

“Ah, Flynn,” Avery yelled as she shuddered beneath my touch.

I slowed my pace but kept moving my fingers slowly back and forth as she pulsed around them. I slowly did circles with my tongue on her clit until I was sure she was satisfied. When I finally came away and let her leg down, I glanced up to see the dreamy look on her face.

“That was good for starters,” I said, grabbed her, threw her over my shoulder, and carried her to the bedroom. Her wig fell to the floor as she chuckled. Five minutes later we were both naked and a tangle of bodies as we joined. Her legs wrapped around my waist as I plunged into her again and again. I had never felt so connected with someone before. I didn’t want to give her up. Most women I had been with were happy with a one-night stand. I chose those who did not want an attachment. It was always an amicable parting in the morning or sometimes straight after the sex, if they didn’t want to wake up with you in the morning. I wanted to wake up with Avery’s body beside me all the time. My bed seemed a lonely place without her.

When I came back from the bathroom, she was sat up with the sheet around her. I snuggled in beside her for now. I threw the two robes I had for us on the bed.

“Sorry about that. I meant to give you a more formal greeting but got carried away which I think was your intention.”

“You’re right. I think we are past the small talk stage. We both know what we want. Which is sex and lots of it.”

“That is true. I would love to know how you got out of the house at Declan’s and nobody wondered what you were up to dressed like that,” I asked as she cuddled up beside me.

“I have a bag with my other clothes in. I found a discreet Uber lady who thought it was great fun that I was dressing up. She is happy to be my regular driver. It also made me realize you can get almost anything you want in Hollywood.”

‘That’s true. Now I will be a better host and get you some food and show you around.”

We donned our robes and made our way back to the main room.

“As you can see it’s a condo on the ground floor. Open plan with the kitchen over there. I like to cook so I will make a meal for you next time. The lounge area is here, and then I have a spare bedroom over here and my garage off to the left.” I led her down the corridor opposite and opened the door and she peered in.

It occurred to me that I had never brought someone back here before. We had always gone to their place or a hotel.

Then there is my bedroom you have already seen and a bathroom.”

“It’s lovely and very you. You don’t like lots of trappings and just the basics,” she said.

I was interested to know what that meant.

“Coffee,” I asked, and she nodded as I got out some pastries. The sex had made me hungry. Avery grabbed one too. “Do you mean the place is spartan? I had someone come in and do the basic design which I know is very gray, black, and stainless steel. I was going to add some of my own stuff but never got around to it.”

“I don’t know. I just can’t see you having a place that is all candles and big fluffy cushions. You just have what you need and that is okay. How long have you been in LA?”

“A year. I only came in during the second season.”

‘I thought so or I would have recognized you. I am not big into science fiction so did not watch the show that much. Declan was very good though it’s weird listening to him with an American accent.”

“I have been booked for this season and have some other stuff in the pipeline.”

“Do you want to go back to Ireland?”

Now she was getting close to what I kept secret. Nobody, not even Avery needed to know about the shit that went down in my family.

“It’s a beautiful country and my family comes from just outside Cork. I think my mother always hoped I would be interested in the land and become a gentleman farmer. My father wanted me to go into medicine like him. It was never my calling.” I would not tell her that I did not want to be anything like my father including his career. “They thought I was just playing with acting and that I would get over it, but here I am.”

“Declan said you won an Emmy. Can I see it?”

“Just go in the bathroom and look in the mirror.” I smirked.

“Very funny.” She raised her eyes at me.

I walked across to the glass cabinet I had and retrieved the statue. I was pleased with myself for my achievement. Mom had sent me a note and champagne after the win. Said she was proud of me. My sister said she wanted to be my plus one at the Oscars if I ever got invited. From my father, there was crickets, which was about what I expected. That was fine with me. I did not want anything from him except an apology to Mom that he had been a shit husband. That would never come.

“My cousin is getting married soon so I will go back for that. I can’t see myself going back to live anymore. What about you with Australia? Can you see yourself living anywhere else?” I was fishing for information and hoped she would not close up on me.

“I love Melbourne. It’s a lively city with something going on all the time. It’s a great place to start a business where people are willing to give you a go. Sydney is showier, and I love the harbor and the bridge, but I like the hip feeling of Melbourne.”
