I clinked a glass with him and sipped.

“So, where do we go from here?” Flynn asked.

“Well, I was hoping we could just fool around, but I suppose now we could find out a little more about each other.” I put out my hand for him to shake and he smirked and shook his head. “Hi. I’m Avery Sparkman.”

“Hi, I’m Flynn Foley.”

I took a big gulp of my drink.

“Declan is my cousin as you know, and I am here in Los Angeles because someone wants to stock my makeup products in their stores. I usually live in Melbourne.”

“Bec kept raving about Declan’s cousin. I just never guessed you were that person.”

“I met her today. She is lovely. She said she might come and help with one of our demonstrations. So, what about you?”

“I play a vampire on the show Dark Storm. I used to do some shows in Ireland before I came over. My family lives just outside of Cork.”

“Declan said you had won an Emmy which you did in more ways than one.” I laughed and clinked our glasses together.

So, we had done the work bit, what now. We had great sex but were still strangers.

“I’ve always wanted to go to Ireland. So, tell me why you were at Port Douglas incognito, and I’ll tell you why I was.” Now we would see how far this would go.

He drained his glass and refilled us both. Looked like I wasn’t the only one who needed Dutch courage.

“I have a temper, and I saw someone abusing their partner so I hit him. I didn’t know at the time he was a big wig in Hollywood. My publicist and agent told me to go far away until it cooled down.”

I liked that he had helped someone in need. Now it was my turn.

“I had booked the hotel for myself and someone I convinced myself was the perfect man.” I pursed my lips and shook my head.

“But he wasn’t?”

“Nope. Hunter, it turns out was married. I decided to still go and have a holiday fling and fell in your pool. The rest as they say, is history.”

“So, what would you like to do now about our unusual situation? I will do whatever you want.”

Darn it, he was getting straight to the point again.

“You really want to push my buttons, don’t you?” He put his head back and closed his eyes for a moment. Damn, I wish I knew what I wanted. Well, I kind of did, but I was scared. He glanced across at me, and I melted inside a little bit. He was so darn gorgeous.

“I want to see you again. For the first time in a long time, I’m willing to share and be around longer than the night or the holiday. Call me crazy, but after I left Australia, I couldn’t stop thinking about you.”

I wanted to believe him, I wanted to think that this might go somewhere and be more than sex. I had also wanted that too many times before. I couldn’t turn away. Flynn was like an addiction I didn’t want to give up just yet. I could see he was waiting for an answer and downed half a glass of my champagne.

“I can’t believe I am saying this, but I want to see you again. I also could not stop thinking about you.” That comment brought a smile to his face. “That being said, I make no commitment and want to take this very slowly.”

“I’m willing to go at any pace you want as long as we can have lots of sex while you decide.”

“I like the sound of that. I still don’t want the others to know.” What I wanted to say was that I didn’t want to have to explain things to people when it all went ass up, which it usually did with me. “I know Declan is my cousin and lives this amazing life, but I’m not like that. I live a quiet life at home and work hard. I don’t want to be on the front cover of a magazine.”

“I understand. Being in this business you don’t get much privacy. I’m happy to continue meeting like this until you change your mind.” He leaned across and kissed me, and like every time he touched me before I lost all reason and just wanted him. Flynn took my glass from my hand and placed it on the bedside table.

“Now, I am going to convince you that I am worth hanging around for.”

This time the sex was slow with him worshiping me. What had I let myself in for? I would never get enough. As we lay in each other’s arms afterward I heard Flynn’s breathing slow as he fell asleep. I wanted to feel excited and happy that this sexy man, let alone movie star wanted me. I just had this feeling it was all too good to be true.

In the morning, I gazed at Flynn as he lay beside me. He was a big strong man and yet I sensed a weakness where he felt he wasn’t quite enough. I knew that feeling well myself. I knew from Declan that being a big name had come with perils. His relationships before Callie had not worked out. His fame had nearly killed her. He had played the field until he met her. Could I have the same? It was mad to think I could with Flynn. We didn’t really know each other, and I was just letting my imagination run wild. I sighed.
