While her mind continued to offer itself reassurances, her body was well and truly on board, and she noticed her hips had begun to undulate against Christian’s soft ministrations.

“More.”

Lila thought he might have asked her if she was sure, but he didn't. Just slipped his hand inside the waistband of her yoga pants. It was like he understood before she did that if he questioned her, made it seem like he doubted her then it would give her cause to doubt herself.

He knew her better than she knew herself.

Christian kept her panties between her and his fingers as he lightly traced around her entrance before sliding up to sweep across her bundle of nerves.

Sensations built, growing quickly.

“More,” she pleaded.

Again, he didn't hesitate to comply.

Pushing aside her soaked panties, he dipped one finger inside her, thrusting in and out slowly as his thumb worked her bud.

“I’m close,” she said haltingly, her hips moving, seeking more.

“What do you need to get there?”

“I … I'm not sure.” Teetering on the edge, so close, but afraid she couldn’t get there. What if she’d lost her ability to orgasm?

As always, Christian seemed to read her mind and sort through her jumbled emotions with more ease than she could. He leaned closer and captured her lips.

Every single thing he felt for her was in that kiss, and his love was the final push her body needed. Lila came hard and fast all over Christian’s hand.

Pleasure seemed to linger, lazily making its way throughout her body, and she felt like she was floating on a hazy cloud.

While she was under no illusions that just because she’d been fine with getting Christian off, and letting him touch her, that all her problems were solved, a sense of peace had settled inside her.

She could do this.

She would do this.

With Christian by her side, they would conquer their demons.

“Thank you,” she whispered.

“For what?”

“For being the first person to love me, and for loving me so completely I feel it down to my soul.”

Chapter Twenty-Four

Surf could absolutely stay like this forever.

Home, in his bed, safe, warm, and comfortable with his woman tucked into his embrace, held snugly against his chest where he knew anything that tried to hurt her would have to go through him first.

As he lay there, he stroked a hand down her spine, almost in awe of the fact that he had her back where she belonged. Ending things with her in an attempt to keep her safe had been the worst decision he’d ever made, and a mistake he would never repeat.

From now on he was keeping her close.

There was not a doubt in his mind that he was the luckiest man alive. To have a woman like Lila, to have won her trust back after breaking it, to have her love after he’d made her believe she meant nothing to him. It was no small thing in his mind, and he intended to hold onto this feeling right here.
