“Who the fuck do you think I am, you dumb spic!” Mr Wellspring bellowed.

I hissed. Racist bastard.

“Mr Lionel Wellspring, you’re under arrest…” Benjamin did the spiel this time as Tonio looked on, amused.

“Add hate speech to the list, Ben,” Tonio said.

Mrs Wellspring was sobbing and screaming but also found herself arrested.

Jax soon followed suit. Arlo and Mr Cask stood there looking completely confused and bewildered. As Jax was being led to a car, he spotted me.

“What the fuck have you done, you bitch?” he shouted, struggling.

“Proved my innocence. Your lying, murderous bitch of a wife won’t get away with Abbi’s death this time!” I yelled back, the snake uncoiling.

“You fucking liar. We know it was you!” Jax bellowed, fighting the officer.

“Add resisting arrest to his charges,” Tonio stated clearly.

I watched in glee as Jax was shoved roughly into a car, and then all four of them were driven off. Arlo and Mr Cask came running over to me, and the men stepped in front.

“Was it not enough that you killed Abbi?” Arlo bellowed, trying to push his way through.

“Wasn’t her,” Gauntlet said, shoving Arlo back.

Arlo looked like he was about to become deranged.

“It was fucking her. And here she is ruining lives again!” Arlo screeched.

Tonio stepped up.

“We have evidence that proves Miss Folkes was innocent. Photos, witness statements, evidence of blackmail, and bribery. Miss Folks did ten years for a crime she didn’t commit while you sat here eating Sunday brunch with your daughter’s killer,” Tonio said, not mincing his words.

Arlo screeched and struggled to get past them again while Mr Cask paled.

“Liar!” Arlo yelled.

“Nope. The truth has finally come out, and those guilty will be prosecuted,” Tonio stated.

Arlo stepped back.

“Whatever lies she told you—” he started to say.

“We have two doctor’s files showing Amberlea’s bruising was on the right-hand side, which proved she was a passenger. Two doctors and numerous nurses confirm this and the prison’s own records. We have proof of bribery to Amberlea’s lawyer and several other people, including a federal judge. And finally, we have Mrs Myers herself admitting the murder on tape. Whatever bullshit you believe that made you turn against an innocent lady is on your heads.

“You spat on the girl you’d grown up with and believed the worst of her even when you knew what type of woman Cordelia was. You’ve kissed their ass and disrespected Abbi, and the lack of justice is on you. You disgust me; money certainly bought your silence,” Gauntlet seethed, stepping forward.

Mr Cask and Arlo looked shocked, and I saw doubt cross Mr Cask’s face.

“Amberlea, is this true?” he whispered.

“Do not speak to her. You think I don’t know about the lies your family told on the stand? Or the hate mail you sent her once a month for ten years? How the fuck could you ever have believed Amberlea would have done that shit? I’ve known her less than a month and know what type of woman she is. You fuckers stole a decade from her. You don’t get to talk to her now,” Gauntlet seethed.

“They’re lying, Dad,” Arlo hissed, sending me a look of hate.

“Yeah, because you need to believe that. Because otherwise, you’ve been shacking up and making nice with your sister’s killer for a decade. Word to the wise, asshole, we’ve got solid evidence Amberlea is innocent, and Cordelia was driving. Including pictures of Cordelia’s wounds!”

“No… you can’t… oh God.” Mr Cask groaned.
