“Drop the knife, and we’ll take it easy on you. Didn’t like those assholes anyway!” the first declared.

“Are you fuckin’ serious? You expect me to put my weapon down? You know who I am, right?” I demanded, slightly insulted.

“Lady, ain’t tellin’ ya again. Rather take you in nice and slow, but I can make it hurt,” the second demanded. His eyes widened seconds later as a shot tore straight through his heart. I skipped backwards before the blood could reach me.

“Fuck!” the other guy yelled as he turned. Sin and I both hit him with a head and heart shot.

“Nice shooting!” I called to Sin.

“Assholes,” Sin replied, and I made my way back over to her.

“Let’s hunt,” I said with a grin.

“Oh yeah,” Sin agreed, and we moved on.

Ali was boasting a freaking shotgun. Don’t ask me where the hell she got that from, but she had one. Bitch certainly hadn’t hidden it in her purse. Ali sent me a wink as we scoured the pool area.

“Marsha, three coming up,” Liz said.

“Don’t let them hit the swimming pool. Marsha, I got plans for that later,” Ali stated.

“Really? We’re defending the Hall and kids, and you’re worried about the pool?” I asked in disbelief.

Ali-kat shrugged.

“It’s hot,” she complained and cocked her shotgun and fired. The first man rounding the corner took one to the chest, and it blew a hole in him the size of my fist. The other two ducked behind the changing room and began firing blindly. Ali and I took cover and fired back. I sighed. This was ridiculous. The assholes were at one end of the changing room building, and we were at the other.

“Hit the ground,” Ali said. I peered at her and did as she said. Being low, the guy didn’t see me as he popped around the corner, and I shot three times, taking him down.

“Drop it,” a voice demanded, and Ali froze. A Fang stood behind her with a gun at her head. She nodded to me as she pulled a knife free from her waistband. I lowered the gun and got to my knees, hands behind my head. No doubt that was the next order.

“Drop the shotgun, bitch. You’ll pay for those killings. Cunt, I’ll be the first up your ass when we get you back,” he growled.

Ali dropped and obeyed.

“Turn around. Wanna see what I caught,” he hissed.

Ali spun, her knife flashing as she gutted him from hip to hip. That fucker sliced through him like butter. Her other arm flew up and knocked the gun away from her head in case he fired as a trigger reflex. It was damn lucky she pulled that move because he did shoot. Ali pulled her other arm back simultaneously and slit his throat. Bloody sprayed her, and she growled.

“Now I need a new outfit and shower!” she complained as he dropped to the floor. I rolled my eyes at her, and we high-fived and went hunting.

I knew where the treehouse was. I was headed straight for it with Lindsey at my heels. Phoe had paired me with her because Lindsey had a nasty side that was only matched by Artemis and maybe Casey or Autumn. But I’d kill and not blink an eyelid, not that I was nuts or a serial killer, but come at my family and children, you’d die.

“Lindsey, you’re walking into a trap. Three men, they spotted you coming,” Liz said over our Bluetooth.

“Let’s trigger it,” Lindsey said, her smile grim and murderous. I nodded and went right as Lindsey kept moving. Three Fangs stopped her with weapons raised, and Lindsey took on a frightened look.

“Drop the gun and come with us. Ain’t no need to get harmed,” the middle guy ordered.

“No,” Lindsey said. The guns twitched.

“Said drop it, or we drop you,” he answered, growling.

“Nope,” Lindsey said as I popped up and shot the man on the right. My aim was slightly off, but he staggered as I gave him a shoulder wound. I fired again even as the middle guy turned to me with his weapon raised. Lindsey’s bullet took him through the head as I was diving away. Her second shot hit the remaining guy just as I fired. Both our bullets hit home, and he dropped to the ground.
