But soon I hoped to have enough evidence to get Jack from her permanently. I hated for him to lose contact with his mother. He loved her and a boy needed his mother, but if she was putting him in harm’s way (even inadvertently) I had to do what was best to protect him. I would do anything to achieve my son’s safety.
Laney and I were enjoying a nice dance after finishing a great meal. We were just about ready to grab some dessert when I noticed a strange look on her face, as if she were very deep in thought. I waited a moment as we danced side to side, listening to the soft, romantic music, and then I asked her, “What is it?”
She shook herself out of her little daydream and said, “Nothing.”
“No, something is on your mind. What’s going on?”
She sighed. “I was wondering, when is too soon to say those three little words in a relationship.”
I was taken aback by her question at first, but then I warmed up to it. I had to wonder though, was she asking because she was really interested in the answer to that question, or because she wanted to know if she was being too forward in speaking of such matters with me this soon into our relationship. I was pretty sure I had the right answer.
“Well, I think it really just depends on how you feel. I don’t think there should ever be time limits on things like that. Life is way too short. You have to do what you want. You have to do what feels right for you. That’s the only thing you can do and you should never have to apologize for how you feel. Whether the other person feels the same way or not, if they care about you at least then they will respect that. They will either confirm their own feelings or say that it is too soon.”
“So, what if I told you that I think I’m falling completely in love with you? Is that crazy?”
My heart skipped a beat and my heartbeat caught in my chest. I cleared my throat as I continued to dance with her. “No,” I said. “I don’t think that is crazy at all.”
She looked up at me with her eyes full of hope and the tears started to spread through, but I could see by the slowly forming smile on her beautiful lips that they were tears of happiness. Her whole body seemed to soar right then. “You mean that? Really?”
I nodded. “Yes, I absolutely mean that.” I tilted her chin up towards me with my finger. I smiled at her. “And I feel the same way. I know I’m falling in love with you. I’ve known it since I first saw you in the bar. I was just not sure how to ever bring that up. I was afraid to act on it because I was not in the right place. I was afraid of hurting you, of wasting your time. That wouldn’t have been fair to you.”
I kissed her softly and held the kiss for what had to have been fifteen seconds, not increasing the pressure, just enjoying that mutual affection between the two of us.
“Yeah, I’m sure of it. I love you,” I said softly. I held her close to me, whispering this in her ear before kissing her lobe and then nuzzling against her neck in a warm embrace. Her soft, long hair brushed gently against my face. I loved it, too. I was almost obsessed with every little part of her. My beautiful angel.
“I love you, too,” she said. “God, I love you so much. I don’t know how I could even think about you not being in my life.”
“Well, I’m not going anywhere.”
We danced a bit longer before we decided to skip dessert and head back to my place. “I’m going to grab us some drinks. Why don’t you meet me by the outside Jacuzzi?” I asked.
Laney smiled and said, “Sounds good.”
I grabbed a bucket, filled it with ice, and then loaded it with several bottles of beer. Then carried it out to the pool area and over to the Jacuzzi where I set it down on the small table beside the tub. Laney was already inside the Jacuzzi where the water was still rising and bubbling. She was nude. I could still see everything through the bubbles and the steam rising off the water on the cool evening. Damn, she looked fantastic. I was instantly hard.
“Well, I guess you started without me,” I said.
“I did,” she replied. “It’s cold out tonight. I needed some warmth. And nothing better than warm and wet, right?”
“Right you are.”
“Why don’t you strip out of those stuffy clothes and join me?”
“I think I might.”
I slowly removed my clothes until I was standing there naked wearing only my boner. My cock was rigid and stiff. It stood up hard pushing away from my body. I looked around wondering if anyone could see me. I doubted it. There were no neighbors close by me and I had a high fence around this part of my property.
