James chuckles, and I can see the cogs turning inside. "I deal with her, right?" He motions to Teal as she returns to the conversation. "I would like—"

"Charlie Morton wants to sign with us," Teal blurts.

CELEBRATIONS

"What?" Logan asks. His face is a picture of confusion and excitement.

"I just got off the phone with her, and she wants to sign with us! She read the interview, and she liked what you said. She told me that she has no problems going forward with us and would like to meet us as soon as we are back in the country."

"Wait," blurts James. "Charlie Morton?TheCharlie Morton?"

"Yes," says Logan.

"She wants to sign with you when you return to the states?" he questions.

"That's what she told me on the phone," I say.

"This isn’t some ruse to get me to sign, is it?"

"Hey, if you don't want to sign, you do not need to." Logan walks off with a smile, leaving me with James.

"Is this…? If I sign now, I'll still be your first client, right? And Charlie Morton will be your second."

"That's up to you," I say.

"You're not messing with me, right?" he asks.

"I'm not. Listen, worst-case scenario, you sign with us, and we are making the whole thing up. You still get to sell your book and make some money, or you sign with the publishing company that just got the rights to the hottest new book. The choice is up to you, but we need to fly back to the states as soon as possible to make Charlie Morton’s deal official."

"Do you have a pen?"

"I do, but I don't have a contract for you. We can sign tomorrow morning over breakfast before we leave the country. How does that sound?"

"Yeah, that works for me. Just tell me where you want me to meet you."

"You're back here tomorrow, right?"

"Yeah."

"The coffee shop opposite the main entrance. It’s the one with the large black steel kettle out front. Meet us there tomorrow morning at eight."

"Yeah, I'll be there at seven-thirty."

"Good!" I smile. "I look forward to it, and I look forward to helping you with your book, Mr. Greenwood."

I hold out my hand, and he shakes it. He keeps muttering Charlie's name over and over and I smile. I step away from the brief meeting and feel on top of the world. We came here to get our first client, and we might havetwo.

I find Logan standing not too far from James' stall, and I head his way. I practically skip as I walk toward him and see him break out into a rare grin. I want to leap up into his arms and celebrate.

I don't have to. As soon as I get to him, he practically lifts me off my feet and kisses me. I was thinking about it, but I didn't expect a show of emotion in such a setting. I melt in his arms like ice cream on a summer's day.

The taste of his tongue is just as I remember. His lips feel softer, if that is possible. I have had many great days since meeting Logan, but this might be the greatest. I am the head of my own publishing company, and I have just signed a hot new author and possibly the most famous author in the world. How can this day get any better?

"We should get out of here," Logan says. "We need to celebrate this. Demons from my past vanquished, and you got me the Charlie deal as promised."

"I didn't really do anything."

"She called you. She could have called me, but she called you, Teal. She trusts you and wants to work with you. You wanted to do the press release and that turned into an even bigger thing. That was your idea as well. Also, you signed James Greenwood without any help from me. Everything has been because of you, and we need to celebrate that."
