She pulled her hand back and then looked up at me with every single emotion she was feeling pouring out of her in those eyes of hers.

I waited for a beat, and then she said those words that split my heart wide the fuck open, “We do this. Means you’re mine. I don’t share. And it also means I’ll give you all of me.”

“Honey, in all the years I’ve been on this earth, I’ve only ever met one woman that held my attention. One woman that I wanted to lay my heart at her feet. One woman that I want to see swollen with my kids. One woman that I want to stand beside and face anything this messed up world has to offer. One woman that even though this world is messed up, she will make our small world better. Because that’s what she lives for. Letting her light shine. And I want all of that. With. You.”

“Come to me, baby.” I told her and watched as tears trailed from the corners of her eyes and then I had one last option. I looked at Stella and nodded.

She smiled, reached towards the floor at her feet, and brought a bag over.

Smiling, she handed it to me and then tossed a wink in Gabriella’s direction.

Eyeing the bag warily, she asked, “What is it?”

“Open it, darlin’.” I told her with a smile that I knew I only reserved for her, hell even my ex-wife didn’t receive that smile.

I watched as she opened the bag, removed the so-called tuffs of tissue paper or whatever you called it, and then she reached her hand in the bag, and she stilled.

Her eyes snapped to mine. “Is this…?”

I shrugged my shoulders. “Pull it out and find out.”

Lightning-quick, she pulled out the property kutte that Stella had made for her.

And that was all my girl needed. She climbed on the bar top, stood, and looked down at me while clutching the kutte to her chest.

I watched as something sparked in her eyes as she said, “Will you catch me?”

“All day every day, darlin’. But I need you to fall at least once. This being in love one-sided thing ain’t all that great.”

She chuckled at me and then whispered the sweetest words, “How can it be one-sided if I feel the same?”

Grinning, I held my arms out for her to jump into them, and jump into them she did.

Her arms went around my neck as mine went around her waist, and her legs circled my waist.

If those tears of hers were for anything else other than her being happy, I would be kicking my own ass right now. “You're breaking my heart, baby.”

When she had her tears all out, she pulled her head from my neck as I slid one hand up to cup the back of her head, and without zero hesitation, I slammed my mouth down on hers. The moment our lips connected; fucking fireworks went off behind my closed lids.

Everything around us faded away and it was just her and me.

The brothers hollering and clapping, the girls with the catcalls.

Guns popping off.

Bombs exploding.

People dying.

Nothing would have registered.

The saltiness from her tears coated my lips, and then when she opened her mouth and tried to get even closer into my body, I slid my tongue into her mouth and the rest, as they say, is history. I lost track of time. Literally.

When we finally pulled apart, we both inhaled much-needed breaths and as her forehead rested on mine, I said, “Now, that’s what I call a great first kiss. Can’t remember any before that.”

“I know what you mean. So do I get to have my name tattooed on you?” She asked as she pulled her head away to look into my eyes.

“Mmhmm, where do you want it?” I asked her as I rubbed my nose along hers, finally getting to do all the things I’ve wanted to do to her for so long.
