He sighed again and shook his head. But it was Whit who answered for him, and the words that came out of his mouth? “We have a week to bring her back there after she packs her things. If she was a sister of one of ours then we would go to war. But she’s just a club girl. We all hate it, but it means starting a war we want no part of.”

“Then it’s time to get that flash drive because I’ll be damned if I lose her before I've even had a chance with her. That way I can divorce the piece of shit I married. That means it makes Gabriella an ole’ lady. Even so, if any of you try to take her from this clubhouse, the war on your hands from that club will be the least of your worries. It'll be with me. And should they come after her, I’ll take them all out and not lose a wink of sleep over it.”

Coal walked over to me then and said, “I’ll stand with you should they try.”

Irish followed him and did the same thing.

“Y’all realize this means war with an allied club, right?” Asher said as he blew out a breath, and then his entire face went white with the next person’s words.

“No means fucking no. When did you forget that, Asher?” Chloe stomped past him with Stella following her and shoulder-checking her dad.

“I stand with the guys. Gabby is my friend. You allow them to take her, and I will never forgive you for it.” Stella said as she glared at her father while she stomped after Chloe.

“Well, let's hit church. I think I got a plan.” Charlie said as he walked over to us and gave me a chin lift.

An hour later, once all the plans were made, we headed out. However, before we left, I saw Gabriella was now back in the main room of the clubhouse as she sat at the bar with the other girls.

And when I passed Gabriella, it took everything in me to not walk over to her and at the very least press a kiss on her forehead and tell her I would be back.

Thankfully, we made the half an hour drive to my father-in-law, Randall’s house, and since I knew that he and Rebecca were at a function I wanted no part of, we easily slipped inside.

Charlie had used some kind of program and disabled the cameras, so we wouldn’t be seen, and he ran a constant loop of the house half an hour before we got there.

My brothers followed me to his office, and I could tell they wanted to wreck everything and move shit, but no one needed to know that we were here.

We had just gotten the flash drive out of the safe when Asher stepped over to me and said, “Can I ask you a question?”

Raising a brow at him, I said, “Ask it.”

“Knowing what you know now about your wife, would you have changed a thing?” I had no fucking clue where he was going with this, but I didn’t even have to think about answering him. It all spilled out of me in an instant.

“Honestly, I wouldn’t have changed a goddamn thing. Everything that woman did showed me what to really look for in a good woman. And that’s Gabriella.”

“You claiming her?” Whit asked me as we walked down the grand staircase that was too gaudy for my taste.

“Soon as we get back home, and I get a lawyer started on the paperwork. But yeah, I’m claiming her. She’s fucking mine.”

“I’ll let the other brothers know.” Asher nodded and with that, we were out of the house, on our bikes, and headed back to the clubhouse.

Chapter 7

Gabby

I was still angry, even after all these hours later, that he had the nerve to get mad at me because I told him no.

Since when did the word no not matter?

And Asher, if I didn’t respect the hell out of that man, I would’ve given him the same treatment as that vile, horrid man. A good kick in the balls and an elbow to his face.

“You okay, girl?” Stella asked as she slid onto the barstool next to mine while Chloe followed suit. Wherever Stella was, Chloe was never too far behind.

“Yeah, just trying to wrap my head around the past forty-eight hours.” I smiled at the two of them.

Chloe smiled and said, “Noticed you were walking differently, too. You, okay?”

“Yeah, he elbowed my ribs when I fought back. I’m okay though. Nothing some ibuprofen won’t fix.” Speaking of that, I pulled a little pack out of my short jeans pocket, ripped it open, and took two with my knock-off cherry limeade that I had seen someone make on a TikTok video.

It wasn’t long before the other girls joined us, and we were all talking about next weekend when we had a charity run planned.
