“So what, okay, I got it wrong. I still know you better.”

“Okay, what am I allergic to?” I asked her. Only someone that was so self-absorbed in their own lives would miss this.

“Oh my God, Pipe, you’re not allergic to anything.” She said as she rolled her eyes.

“Really now? Then why do I always ask if they use peanut oil when they fry stuff?”

She wasn’t scoffing now, but she just had to prove to herself that she thought she knew me with what she said next. “Because you don’t like the way it tastes.”

“I’m fucking allergic to peanuts.”

And with that, I turned, walked down the hallway to my bedroom, shut the door, locked it, and stripped.

And there in my shower, I did something I haven't done in twenty years. Yes, I jacked off in the shower, but never have I come in under three minutes. And that was all because I pictured Gabriella smiling at me.

I was one sick son of a bitch.

***

It wasn’t until two days later that I got to see Gabriella’s face again. She had left with a few of the members to go on a run at an allied club, and since the run was planned before I came back, I wasn’t needed.

So, while I was sitting at the bar, watching the door every time it opened, hoping it was her walking through the door, one of the club girls watched it and laughed every single freaking time.

“Oh man, I want to know who you are waiting for, even though I think I know, but I doubt you will tell me.” She said, and I didn’t even know her name.

I wasn’t ashamed of it either.

There was just something about Gabriella that I couldn’t put my finger on.

Why she had my undivided attention?

How she was able to stop me in my tracks at just the sight of her?

It was almost as if, somewhere in the deepest part of me knew her, yet I’d never met her before.

Something in my gut told me to grab ahold of this girl and never let go.

Sighing, I said, “Gabriella.”

She smiled then and nodded. “I figured as much. I don’t know you. But when I did meet you, your eyes never strayed far from her. And I know I don’t have to tell you that you are shit out of luck with that wedding band on your finger.”

All I could do was nod. “She…” Whatever I was going to say was cut off when the doors opened and there she was.

But instead of smiling and laughing, she was glaring at Asher and stomping into the clubhouse, walking right past me and down the hall. The sound of a door slamming into the wall, then slamming closed, reverberated around the clubhouse.

After I turned my head back from watching her and no longer seeing her, I asked Asher, “What the hell was that all about?”

He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, “You know some clubs have a rule that if a woman isn’t claimed, she’s fair game?”

I nodded, immediately not liking where this conversation was going.

“The club we went to also didn’t think that they needed to honor the agreement between Gabby and us.”

And that caused a growl to start up in my chest, up my throat, and out of my mouth. “Who?”

“The who isn’t important. But what is important is that they took affront to Gabby kicking the guy's ass when she told him no and he didn’t listen. They demanded we hand her over to them for retribution.”

“And she’s here, so I’m guessing you told them to kiss your ass?” At least that’s what they better have told them.
