And before I could open it, Pipe reached over and twisted the top off for me. I muttered my thanks and took a long pull of the amber liquid.

“What favor did you do for him?” Pipe asked, and me not knowing that everyone at the table was watching and listening intently, I opened my mouth to answer him.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t tell you what that was. That’s up to Pagan to tell you.”

“You do realize you're denying a brother, right?” He asked with a growl in his tone.

I nodded. “Yeah, I know that, but if you bring the matter up with Asher, he will take my side because I am defending a brother.” I told him as I took another pull from my beer.

He didn’t push anymore, but what he did do was shock the shit out of me when he slammed his beer bottle down on the table, stood up and walked over to Pagan.

“That boy has it bad for you,” Novalie said with a twinkle in her eye.

I shook my head. “Novalie, he’s married.”

“Honey, we all know how you are, but we also know that his wife is a complete bitch.” Knowing that he was married to someone that Novalie would label as a bitch, I didn’t need to know anything else.

I turned my head to see that Pagan had nodded, and then looked at me and winked.

Pipe was back in his chair, beer back in his hand as he looked… happy?

“Find out what you wanted to know?” I asked him as I smirked.

He looked at me and smiled, oh there went my lady bits. “Yeah, he told me that you could’ve told me, but he was honored that you didn’t.” I shook my head and laughed.

“What was it?” Valerie asked from her place beside Garret.

“Some fucking deer ran out in the middle of the road, and he laid his bike down, and in doing that, he had his insulin in his saddlebags. Fucking ruined his bottle of insulin. So, Gabby here got in contact with a friend of hers and got him another bottle. He’s type two diabetic.”

“That’s not something major though, you could’ve told him,” Marley said from where she sat on York’s lap.

I shook my head. “No, I couldn’t have. If he would’ve asked me before Pagan became a brother, then I wouldn’t have had a problem telling him, but he’s due respect now. On top of that, I don’t know if the brothers know about it. I wouldn’t disrespect him that way.” I said, as I took a pull from my beer.

“Respect that,” Cotton said with nods from Knox, Garret, and York.

“Y’all think of pulling her away from this clubhouse to work for y’all, I’ll kick your ass,” Asher said as he apparently heard the conversation and left that hanging in the air.

Laughter surrounded the group of people.

But I didn’t miss the fist bump between Pipe and Asher either.

Just then I smelled something that got on my fucking nerves. Fucking Buster was walking over to us. I couldn’t help the sneer that formed on my face. “We don’t like him?” Valerie whispered.

I shook my head, then whispered, “You’ll find out why.”

Just then Buster sidled up next to me and did that creepy thing of running his hand along the back of my neck, “Looking good, darlin’.”

“Thanks, Buster,” I muttered, trying not to sound like his touch disgusted me.

All the while ignoring the low growl that came from Pipe. I didn’t even want to touch what was going on with that.

“Asher said you were off tonight… but I don’t think we can call it as you working. I’ll even do all the work.”

“No, Buster,” I said in a low tone.

He leaned into my ear and said, “Come on Gabby, please.” Which caused shivers to race along my skin.

“No, Buster,” I told him for like the millionth time, putting more force into my words.
