Which was a genuine concern, but still.

"You already don't interest him much," I said, my voice teasing.

"You're right," he said sadly, his voice quiet. "He prefers your company now."

I pushed away from him, and turned to him, then gave him a smack on the shoulder. His eyes were laughing. He wasn't serious.

"You got me there," I said, laughing with him.

"Come here," he said, opening his arms. I snuggled against him again, my head on his chest. I ran my hands over his body, my finger softly tracing his flat nipple. He groaned.

"Are we done talking?" He asked. I ignored him, instead leaning over him and placing my lips over his nipple, grating my teeth over the bud softly.

"Not at all, you really need to stop feeding the boy pizza for dinner," I said.

"It doesn't happen as often as he made it sound," Hunter said, his voice hitching when I bit on the nipple.

"But it happens," I said. I kissed up his muscular body, up to his chest even as my hand traced its way down his body to his shorts. I lingered at the band of his shorts, my lips now at his. "I want you to promise."

"Promise what?" He asked, his voice a mild groan.

"No more feeding him bad food." I cover his lips with mine. He pulled me down to him, immediately swished his legs over mine, and returned the kiss. Hard. His tongue probed at my lips.

"Pizza isn't bad food, he needs the carbs," Hunter said, smiling against my lips even though I refused to open them.

"That's your excuse?"

"But sometimes, you need to let kids be kids."

"Another excuse?" I asked.

"A fact this time," he said. "I have a question, why wouldn't he talk at dinner?"

"Trade secrets," I hummed against his lips. "Now promise."

While he lingered, I pushed my hands into his shorts and wrapped them firmly around him. He released a hard sigh and nodded.

"Let's hear it," I purred.

"You drive a hard bargain, Becca," he said.

"I believe that's an understatement," I replied, running my hands over him as slowly as I could.

"I promise," he said finally.

"That wasn't so hard, now, was it?" I breathed. Then I covered his lips with mine again, pushing my tongue into his mouth, my hands pushing his shorts off and settling on top of him.

The Arrival

I breathed out heavily and shut down the laptop. It was already afternoon; the day was far gone. I picked up the laptop and walked out of the study, locking the study door behind me and walking to my room.

I dropped the laptop on the bed and walked over to the bathroom, shutting the door behind me. I turned on the shower and let the water heat up while I stripped down and stepped in. The hot water felt good on my skin, and I quickly showered. I needed to freshen up before driving over to the cafe to see Becca. She wanted me to attend a meeting with her later.

I hoped she had finally decided to convert that damaged passage into seating. She could seat more people, which would bring in more customers and increase her profit. But she was adamant. The woman could be stubborn when she wanted to be.

After a quick shower, I got out and dried off, wrapping a towel around my waist. I grabbed my shaving kit and headed to the sink, where I lathered up and began shaving off the stubble from the night before. It was always a tedious process, but I knew it was necessary if I wanted to look presentable at whatever meeting Becca had set up today.

Once I was clean-shaven, I brushed my teeth and combed my hair, then went back into the bedroom to get dressed. I opted for a crisp white button-up shirt and black slacks, a classic business look that never failed me. I slipped on my dress shoes and looked in the mirror. Just like I hoped, I looked like I had made some effort.
