"Becca," he said softly, his eyes locked on mine. "I know we haven't known each other this well for very long, but I feel like there's something special between us. I really like you, and I want to see where this could go."

I stiffened for a moment, unsure of what to say. I certainly hadn’t expected that question tonight.

"Are you nervous?" Hunter asked, a small smile on his lips.

I shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant. "A little. It's been a while since I've been on a date."

"I'm glad you said yes," Hunter said, reaching across the table to take her hand. “But what do you think of what I said? I think we could make a really great team.”

I felt my heart race at the touch of his hand. I had always found Hunter attractive, but I couldn't shake the feeling that his question was too sudden. Why tonight? There had been no build-up and nothing had happened to prompt it.

"Hunter, can I ask you something?" I said, my voice trembling slightly.

"Of course, anything," Hunter replied, his brow furrowed with concern.

"Is this... because of Ian?" Becca asked hesitantly. He was the only reason I could think of. Maybe Hunter had noticed his gaze lingering on me. It had been obvious and while Ian was a handsome man, I preferred Hunter. We just got better.

"What do you mean?" Hunter asked, confusion etched on his face.

“Nothing,” I replied, shaking my head softly. It was probably nothing, but I felt reluctant. It was too sudden. I needed time to think.

“You can talk to me, what’s wrong?” He asked.

“Nothing,” I replied. “I just need some time to make up my mind, think you can do that? Give me some time?”

“Certainly Becca, I can do that,” he replied, taking my hands across the table and giving me a soft squeeze.

I wanted Hunter, everything he had to offer sounded good. I wasn’t sure why I hesitated, but I had and now I hoped I hadn’t ruined this good thing between us.

“Do you want to get out of here and get to the house?” I whispered softly.

“And when we get to the house?” He asked.

“I think you know the answer to that,” I answered saucily.

Hunter looked around and called to a passing waiter, settled the bill, and we made our way out of the restaurant to the car.

Then he drove like the devil back home. We barely made it into the house before we fell on each other, tearing at our clothes and kissing wildly.

I attacked his buttons, ripping them open and running my hands over his chest while Hunter palmed my ass, his hand hefting me up and wrapping my legs around his waist on our way to the room.

“How about you take me right here?” I purred against his ears. We were on the stairs, almost at the landing. “We might never get another chance.”

“I won’t mind but you’ll hurt, these stairs aren’t meant for strenuous activity,” he answered.

I giggled and shook my head. “If you say so.”

He continued to the room with me nibbling at his ears. His hands kept squeezing my ass, digging in and releasing as his muscles bunched against my arm.

“Open the door”

I pushed the door open, then wrapped my hands around his neck while he walked to the bed and dropped me on it. I got up fast, smiled wickedly at him, and patted the bed.

“Sit,” I said.

He settled on the bed and spread his legs. I got off the bed and walked between his spread legs, then I knelt in front of him and ran my hands to his belt, unbuckled them as fast I could, and pulled them through the loops of his pants, pulling the pants down at once. When his shorts were visible, I repeated the same thing, pulled them down, and watched as his meat sprang out.

“Someone’s ready,” I hummed down in my throat.
