Fuck. How long are these two going to take?

I straightened and tried to turn a little when Razai gripped my hips with terrifying strength, halting me. His fingers dug into my flesh.

What the hell?

“Stop… moving,” he said tightly, as if in pain.

“I’m not a statue, Razai,” I hissed back. “What do you expect me to do? Ignore them? I have to stay alert.”

“Gods, you’re an amateur.”

“I don’t know what that has to do with anything.” A soft moan from the girl made me freeze.

“You know what? Fine, Detective. If you want to watch so badly.” He let go of me and gently shifted a box so I had a protected view of the office.

“That’s not what I mean, and you know it.” It was for my own peace of mind. Waiting without any visual would only stress me out more.

Her shirt lay puddled on the ground with his. She rested on her hands, head hung back while he kissed down the slope of her chest and slid a bra strap down.

I swallowed nervously and looked away. “I didn’t say I wanted to watch. I just wanted to make sure they weren’t about to bust the door down.”

“Oh, really?” he teased. “You think they’re concerned about this closet still?”

Another moan cut through the air, making me wince.

My hoodie was suddenly too warm. Way, way too warm.

Razai chuckled. “At least Cole knows what he’s doing.”

“Or she’s a good actress,” I joked.

But I wasn’t convinced that was true. She enjoyed herself as he unclasped her bra and ran his thumbs over her nipples.

I turned my head away. This felt too weird.

Razai’s breath brushed over my neck. “At least you stopped rubbing yourself on me. I’m offended you thought I was so easy, Detective.”

I froze.

Well, fuck.

Chapter Twenty-One

Now his actions made sense. The way he’d held me still and ordered me to stop shifting around. All because my ass had been…

Mortified, I said, “I didn’t realize.”

“You wound me.”

I wrung my hands, mentally slapping myself. “Uh… I’ve got a habit of a one-track mind. I’m sure your manhood can handle it.”

The smack of skin on skin cut into our conversation and flared my embarrassment even more. The only good thing was that my intuition didn’t quite care about this room anymore.

Whatever I’d taken from that desk had been the thing I’d come to find. Tonight wasn’t a bust after all. This will be worth it.

I glanced through the window. “Fucking hell, what is he doing with that poor woman?”

Razai sighed. “I have no idea. She doesn’t look comfortable laying like that.”
