Not wrong.

Two students pass by us, laughing at his words.

“But I like my car even more,” I say innocently.

A low sound comes out of his mouth, between grunting and laughing. Not very elegant but very sexy, I must say. That’s when I notice the paper bag on the hood next to him. Seeing the fast-food logo, I can feel my stomach rumbling. I’m starving.

“What’s this for?” I ask, pointing to the bag with my chin.

“Well,” Tucker begins, straightening up, “it’s to properly celebrate our relationship.”

I let out a laugh. “You’re thanking me for going out with you by offering me a burger?”

“The best burger you’ve ever had,” Tucker replies, standing in front of me.

He takes off his sunglasses and looks into my eyes. I lift my head and stare at his mouth.

“Would you like me to buy you flowers?” he teases, letting me know that he’s not the type to do that.

I’m glad of it. I’m not into flowers and chocolates.

“I already told you, I don’t like flowers. But I hope you got extra cheese with the fries because if not, I’m not letting you sit on my couch.”

He smiles softly as he grabs my chin between his thumb and forefinger. “Of course, I did. But I’m not going to sit on your couch, and neither are you.”

He places his mouth on mine for a second, his warm breath hitting my wet lips. He kisses me again and I feel myself melting at his touch.

“Why is that?” I sigh, pressing myself against his chest.

“Because we’re not going to your place.”

I raise my eyes to him in surprise. “Where are we going?”

His right hand goes down my back until it stops on the top of my butt. He presses his mouth to my ear and whispers, “Let’s go to my place.”

At first, I think I heard him wrong. I know Tucker doesn’t want anyone in his house. “We’re going to the chapel, right? Are all the others waiting for us?”

He cuts me off again by pressing his mouth against mine and nibbles my bottom lip before shaking his head. “No, babe. We’re not going into the chapel. There’s no one waiting for us. We’re going to my house.”

So, he really wants to take me to his mansion, where his mother and sister are? He wants to invite me,me, when he refuses to let anyone go there, even TJ?

“You want me to come to your place?” I repeat stupidly.

He nods, uncertain. As if, deep down, he’s afraid. I understand that he is apprehensive, and I feel privileged that, despite everything, he chooses to open his doors to me.

Because Tucker trusts me, I can see it in his eyes. He knows I won’t judge him.

He steps away from me, slaps my butt, and joins my crate.

“Come on, move your little ass.”

“Hey,” I mutter, just to argue.

But I can’t help but smile. I’ll go to his place. I know that after tonight, our relationship will never be the same. It’s really getting serious.

And for the first time in a long time, I’m not afraid of the future.
