My hands slipped between us, and with as much force as I could muster, I shoved the asshole off.

Fane stumbled back, but before he was out of reach, he snatched my arm and pulled me with him. We tumbled onto the bed, and I landed on top of him, his hips spreading my legs apart.

“If you wanted to be on top, you should have just said so.” Fane smirked beneath me, his insanely dark hair tumbling around his face like we’d already been rolling in the sheets for hours.

“You’re a disgusting prick.” I reared back to punch him, but he grabbed my arms and pinned them to my sides.

“You like what I am, Teague.” He angled me forward and rolled his hips, his cock pulsating against my center. “You can’t deny it.”

I wiggled, trying to break free of him, but all it did was create more friction between us, a delicious sensation that kept me from really fighting him off. “I hate you.”

“I hate you too.” Fane released my arms, and his fingers dug into my ass, pressing me harder against him and making me groan. “I’m not here, so whatever we do never really happened.”

My eyes narrowed. “Are you serious?”

He licked his piercing. “Beg me and find out.”

A knock at the door had me scrambling off Fane, bouncing on the mattress next to him just as a rumpled, shirtless Ruin peered in.

“Is everything okay?”

I straightened my clothes and sat up, breathing hard. “Uh, yeah.”

Ruin stepped inside and surveyed the room, his black silk pajama bottoms hanging low on his hips. Like I’d suspected, tattoos covered his arms and torso. “I thought I heard voices and crying.”

Heat flooded my cheeks. That wasn’t crying he heard. “I was having a nightmare.”

Fane laughed as he reclined on the bed next to me with his elbow propped up and his cheek in his hand. “Just wait until he hears what you sound like when you come for me.”

I cleared my throat and crossed my arms as flames licked every square inch of me. “I’m fine. Thanks for checking.”

“Are you sure?” Ruin dragged his hand through his tousled navy locks, his lips puckering.

“Yeah.” Goose bumps rippled over my flesh as Fane’s fingers tiptoed across my thigh. “I have nightmares all the time. I’m used to it.”

“Stop that,”I hissed at Fane through our mental link.

“Make me.”

Hearing his voice in my head for the first time in weeks had my emotions battling each other. I hated it and at the same time, I missed it.

Fane sat up and licked my tattoo.

I shuddered and moaned but covered it with a laugh as I shot to my feet to escape the demon shifter.

Lines developed across Ruin’s forehead as he scrutinized me. I probably looked like a psycho. “Do you want some tea or something to help you sleep? Or a snack?”

“Don’t even think of leaving this room with him, Teague. We haven’t finished yet.” Fane’s threat excited me way too much, and if I stayed, I’d do something regrettable.

Fun but regrettable.

“Sure.” I walked to the chair in the corner, grabbed the silky robe I’d found in the closet, and threw it on. “I’d love a snack.”

Ruin smiled and held his arm out for me. “Nighttime snacks are the best.” He wiggled his eyebrows at the suggestive hint to his words.

Fane stood, his hands curling into fists.“He’ll say anything to get you into his bed, Teague.”

I flipped the demon shifter off over my shoulder.“Go to hell, Maverick.”I had no intention of getting down and dirty with Ruin, but if leaving the room with him got me away from Fane and pissed the demon shifter off, I’d call that a win.
