“Wrong.”

I swung Silvy hard, bringing her down on his right arm. He bellowed. Benito shoved a hand over his mouth to muffle the sound. We were in a run-down, shitty little hovel in a derelict part of town, but any witness was a bad witness.

“Stop screaming,” Benito said calmly. “Or I’ll crush your larynx.”

My brother removed his hand, and Roger simply hissed under his breath, letting out a string of curses. I moved off of him and tilted my head. It wasn’t nearly enough. Ash had told me about every sick threat, every beating, every fucked up thing the man had ever done. I was sure there was more to tell, things that I would be there to listen to when he was ready to confront any of the bullshit that plagued his past. For now, I had more than enough ammo to keep me interested in hurting this prick.

“You don’t have any right to what’s mine,” I informed him. “Didn’t he already tell you he didn’t want to see you again? And what do you do? You try to contact him. You didn’t think he was going to tell me immediately?”

Roger looked up at me, but he kept his mouth shut. I grinned. He liked to talk so much, but now he was quiet as a morgue. It was really goddamn fitting, but I wanted to hear more of his cries and pleas. Silvy crashed into his knee. The delicious sound of cracking echoed through the room. Satisfaction rippled through me, along with vibrations up my arm. Roger kept his teeth snapped together, muffling his own scream. I was sure his teeth would break out of his head from the pressure, but no such luck.

“I can’t kill you,” I said, cracking my head left and right. “Ash made me promise I wouldn’t do it.”

“What?” Enzo asked. “Seriously?”

I shrugged. “He doesn’t want to think about the old man being killed even though he knows he deserves it. I promised I wouldn’t do it after saying I would.”

“So, what are we doing here?” Benito asked.

“I saidIwouldn’t kill him. Never said anything about an unfortunate accident happening, like him disappearing.”

“He’ll never forgive you!” Roger sputtered out. “L-let me go, and I’ll disappear.”

I shook my head. “You’ve been a pain in my ass for way too long. Between the money you owe, the bullshit, and the bruises you put onmy fucking property—” I sucked in a deep breath, forcing myself not to shout. The rage that pumped through my veins was getting out of hand. Slowly, I opened my eyes again and jammed my fist into his face. Blood flew from his lip, and I felt a little better. “You don’t deserve shit but to die screaming in agony. That’s exactly what you’re going to get.”

Standing up, I held out Silvy. “Benito, wanna do the honors?”

“I don't get to help?” Enzo asked.

I shrugged. “Carve away, but the final blow goes to Silvy. I want this death etched into my hammer. No one else deserves to kill him but me.”

Benito squeezed my shoulder. "It’s okay,” he said quietly. “We’ve got you.”

I glanced at my brother, my heart pounding against my chest. Slowly, I sucked in a long, slow breath. I counted backward from ten, feeling my feet connect to the Earth as I exhaled. Ash had put me on all kinds of plans for my panic and temper. Yoga, meditation, jogging. Whatever he could do to help me, he did. I thought some of it was stupid as fuck, but when he looked at me with those doe eyes, I gave in.Anything for him.

“Thanks,” I told Benito and nodded at Enzo. “You two are saving me here.”

“What are brothers for?” Enzo asked. “Besides, it’s been a while since I’ve carved into someone. Let’s take opposite ends, Benito.” He ripped the man’s pants down his thighs. “I’d like to try out some new designs, watch how the blood flows and how much slips out.”

I grinned. “There’s my creepy little brother.” I glanced around. “Don’t you wanna do the tarp thing first?” I asked Enzo.

His eyes lit up. “I thought you’d never ask. You two move him, and I’ll prepare the floor.”

“No, no.” Roger shook his head as he was lifted, twisting in our holds and the ropes that kept his wrists and ankles bound together. “Don’t do this. I-I’ll do anything. What do you need? I can get it for you. Don’t kill me!”

“Beg more,” I groaned. “That shit is going right to my dick, and I get to take this hard-on to your son, where he’ll wrap his lips around it.” I sighed. “And then maybe he’ll bend me over and go to town.”

Roger’s eyes widened. “What?”

“Oh, yeah. He told me about all your pansy bullshit. Roger, your son fucksme. You never thought he was a man, but he proves it to me every single night. Usually more than once.” I grinned. “See? You have nothing to worry about. He’s not a sissy like you used to call him. Moron.”

“I-I...”

“Shut the fuck up.”

My fist smashed into his face again. No matter how many times I did it, the satisfaction didn’t end. I’d never met anyone who deserved to be punched in the face as much as this bastard did. The bruising around his eyes was only growing, but soon it wouldn’t matter. No one would find Roger’s body. It didn’t matter what I did to him.

Enzo set to work slicing into Roger’s thighs once he was on the plastic that had been laid down. Carefully and thoroughly, Enzo cut and observed before doing it all over again. I had to admire his dedication, even if what he was doing was nerdy as hell. Benito, on the other hand, tested Silvy in his hands before he brought it up and slammed it into Roger’s jaw. The man’s half scream, half gargle, made me laugh.
