“We need to talk,” Grant said.

He grabbed Hellen’s arm and then pulled her into her office.

Maddie had joined him, and she had a glare on her face. He had no doubt she’d already called Bull and his brother would be arriving in a matter of time. The club had missed that little clue. He didn’t have time.

What he didn’t know was if this was Vito Crew, which it shouldn’t be because most of those members were dead, unless the Vito Crew were working for another part of the Cartel.

“Who did you give the key to?” Grant said.

He was fast losing his temper.

“I didn’t give the key to anyone. I have no idea what’s going on,” Hellen said, looking from him to Maddie. “What’s going on, Maddie?”

“There’s a … there’s a time difference on the security footage, Hellen. At least ten minutes where it had been turned off while the dogs were taken, and then put back on.”

“So, I ask again, who did you give the key to? Who are you working for?” He took a step toward her.

He’d never beaten a woman before. The idea never appealed, but this woman had manipulated the club.

“No one, I swear. I only gave it to that guy you sent over.”

Now, Grant was stumped. “Guy?”

“Yes, the one that was here to … er … ugh, what is it called, update the systems or something. I don’t remember who he was, but he said he’d been sent by the Chaos and Carnage MC, and he looked very scary.”

Grant gritted his teeth. He’d been so out of the loop when it came to club business that he didn’t have a fucking clue what she was talking about. Turning toward Maddie, he waited, and she shrugged.

“How long until Bull gets here?” Grant asked.

“About five more minutes, maybe ten.”

Grant pressed his lips together. Did he want to have this out with his brother in front of Maddie and Hellen? He didn’t have much choice as he heard the sound of bikes roaring closer. He folded his arms and waited.

“It’s going to be okay,” Maddie said.

She looked worried. He was happy she did. The last person he wanted to see right now was his brother or any of the club.

Seconds later, Bull, Pat, and Rusty joined them. Once again, his gaze was drawn to the VP patch decorating Pat’s chest. When he’d been voted as VP it meant everything to him. He’d known the club wanted the Reynolds blood to stay at the top, seeing as they had led the club for many decades through their father and his father, and now Bull. The brothers always got the VP patch. The younger, insignificant brother. Like him.

Bull was changing the rules, though. Pat now had his patch.

“What is going on here?”

“Did you send a guy over here to update the computer systems?” Grant asked, while he glared at his brother.

Bull looked toward Maddie and then Hellen.

“Grant, I think you should leave.”

“He’s the one that found the problem,” Maddie said.

“Yeah, I should leave. That seems to be the easiest option for you, doesn’t it? Kick me out. Suspend my ass,” Grant said. His hands were clenched into fists.

“What did you do to your face?” Bull asked.

“None of your fucking business.”

“Was it the club?” Maddie asked.
