Grant put his boot on Bull’s back and he cringed as he did so. “Don’t get up quite yet. I’ve got to make it look like you’ve been dragged.”

“Is this really necessary, Grant?” Maddie asked.

“I’ve not started on you.”

“If you punch my woman or hurt her in any way—”

“Shut up, Bull. I won’t hurt her.” With his boot print on Bull’s back, he then turned his brother over and hauled him up. “Have you put on weight?”

“Fuck off, Grant.”

He chuckled. He couldn’t help it. After some serious tugging, he got Bull into the chair and then tied him up with the rope, being sure to knot it as he did so. “There.”

Blood dripped from Bull’s mouth.

“You’ve got to spit at me,” Grant said.

“Seriously?”

“I wouldn’t tell you to spit on me for shits and giggles,” Grant said.

Bull rolled his eyes but did as he asked. The spittle landed near his face and hit his neck. Grant swiped it off and then rubbed it on Maddie’s shirt.

“Hey!”

“Sorry, Pumpkin, you’re next.”

Grant shoved his shoulder into her stomach and then lifted her up.

“You can fight and wriggle a bit.”

“You’re going to drop me,” Maddie said.

“No, I’m not.”

After she began to growl at him, Grant chuckled and then placed her in the chair opposite Bull.

“Now I need you to look like your hair has been pulled,” Grant said.

Maddie sighed but then ran fingers through her hair and tugged it in all directions.

“Great, slap your face.”

“You do realize there’s going to be payback for this,” Maddie said.

“Yeah, I know, but if it means you can get out of the clubhouse and not be locked up again, don’t you think that’s a bonus?”

“This is all fucking crazy,” William said. “There’s no way any of this is going to work. You’re acting foolish.”

“You think my brother and Maddie are the only targets?” Grant asked. “Trust me, Ranford, you’re next.”

He slid a fist into the man’s guts. He recoiled.

“You’re also part of the plan.”

Rusty whistled. “I do not want to be you right now.”

“Yeah, well, I’m fucking bored with this shit.” He pulled out his cell phone, complete with Miguel’s card. “It’s showtime.”
