My fingers drifted across the remote's plastic surface, and my eyes followed the flickering images on the TV in the dimly-lit Shadow World bedroom I used to share with my men. I tried and failed to concentrate on the complexities of spell crafting that filled the magical grimoires.

The world seemed to stand still as my eyes locked onto the breaking news headline. In giant, bold letters, the headline screamed 'Magda Sefton, powerful businesswoman and real estate magnate, dead in a horrific car accident!' Shock rippled through me like a cold wave as I stared at the words in disbelief.

My stomach lurched as I saw the unmistakable evidence of Apollyn's wickedness. I could almost feel the stain of evil left on the scene, and it filled me with a nauseating mix of dread, revulsion, and abject terror.

I couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt, knowing that I was the reason Apollyn had targeted Magda. She was just another pawn in his game, and now she was gone, a victim of his obsession with controlling me.

Anxiety raced through my veins as I tried to reconcile my tumultuous emotions. Guilt, relief, fear and defiance all clashed together inside me, leaving me feeling confused andoverwhelmed. I didn't know how I could feel so many different things at the same time, but I knew one thing—I had to find a way to stop Apollyn before he made things worse. But what was the right thing to do? Should I confront him head on? Or should I bide my time while I perfected my plans and wait for the right opportunity? Nothing was certain, but one thing was—I needed to act faster.

Rage burned through my veins like molten lava as I stomped my way to Apollyn's throne room, my fist clenching with every step. My heart was beating in my ears like a battle drum as he had taken away my right to avenge my aunt's death. He had no right to intervene and I wanted him to know it. I would make Magda pay for her crime and no one was going to stop me. My fury was boiling over as I got closer and closer to him.

I didn't take the time to knock on his bedroom door; I simply opened the door and stepped into the room. What greeted me caused me to stumble backwards in shock. There was Apollyn, lying on a giant four poster bed while four hybrid demonesses/humans pleasured him. Two had their lips wrapped around his cocks. Dear god...his cocks. I was so stunned I couldn't breathe until I looked away from the explicit scene.

Apollyn was absolutely startled. "What in the world?" he exclaimed, pushing the demonesses off of him as he rose from the bed. "Out!"

I looked away, but I heard the patter of their bare feet as they dashed out.

"You'd better explain your damned self," Apollyn bit out.

I glanced back over my shoulder and saw he had already donned a robe. I thought about saying I could come back when he was done, but I decided against it. Nope...he was going to hear this. If I couldn't be with my men, then I was going to do everything in my power to interrupt his little fucking sessions. See how he liked that!

"You had no right to take my revenge away from me." My voice shuddered with raw emotion. "Magda killed my aunt and I wanted to be the one to make her pay. I never asked for your help and yet you interfered anyway."

"You're right," he said, his voice low and menacing. "You never asked for my help. Would you have wanted to live with the guilt of killing a human being?"

He had a point, yet I stood there, shaking with rage, not sure how to respond. Part of me wanted to argue with him, to make him see that what he did was wrong. But the other part of me was afraid of the consequences of crossing him.

I pointed. "If this is how things are going to be while I'm here, I can assure you that I can be just as cunning too. You're right. I'll never murder innocent human beings, but I will take down that murderous fiend you call your second-in-command. He tried to eat my cat!" I couldn't even bring myself to think about how Loki raced into my room to keep from being hacked to bits.

Apollyn rubbed his chin. "I will talk to Zeggon about that."

"You better because I will kill him myself. And where's Tokin?"

"Tokin failed the loyalty test. He remains loyal to my sons. He must've known I would've executed him, because he's suddenly disappeared from here."

I frowned, said nothing and turned on my heel.

"Wait," he commanded, his voice a steely growl. "I know you went to Earth to see my sons despite my warning and our deal."

I tensed, my hands balling into fists. "You warned me against it...that was all."

Apollyn looked at me with a cold, impassive expression. I could feel the anger radiating off of him and it only made me more determined to stand my ground. "Do not play games with me, Sadie. You went behind my back to do it."

"I didn't know I needed your permission. You can't control my actions, Apollyn. I'll do what I want, when I want."

Apollyn's eyes flashed in anger. "Is that so?" His lips curled into a snarl. "Then perhaps it's time I remind you who is in control here. My power is not to be taken lightly, Sadie. And neither is my warning."

I propped my hands on my hips. I planted my feet and angled my chin defiantly. "You think threatening me will make me afraid of you?"

"From where I stand, you seem to be playing a dangerous game. From the very start of all of this actually. And I have no patience for those who break agreements," he said. "Instead of whoring with my sons, you should be practicing to elevate yourself as the most powerful witch ever to live in Shadow World."

"I am not their whore! You're one to talk. You had four women in your bed, just now. That is the very definition of whoring."

Apollyn grinned. "Unlike my sons, I crave a true harem." He laughed. "They've got it all backwards.

I wrinkled my nose in disdain and shot him a scornful glance.
