“Go to Bash’s party with me.”
“I didn’t know he was having one.”
“He let me know about it earlier today and now I’m letting you know. I actually have your invitation lying next to mine on top of my dresser.”
“Bash is that official about a party?”
“This is a private, invitation-only one. Brooke, the rest of your team, and Ian aren’t on the guest list because this party is gonna be rather risqué.”
“How so?”
“Because of the costumes that Bash is requiring all of us to wear. Well, not the men, but the women. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the male guests wear women’s costumes and some of the female guests wear men’s costumes. Bash has a wide variety of friends who attend his private parties. I’ve met several of them over the years and they’re all great.”
“We’ll get to Bash’s friends in a minute. Right now, I wanna know what kind of costume I’m expected to wear.”
“I’m gonna text you a link to a website to answer that question. Hang on.”
“Okay.” I was putting Zac on speaker when his text came through, and then I opened the link. When I saw what was on the website, my jaw dropped. “Oh my God, Bash is having a Moulin Rouge party!”
“I know. You sound excited about it.”
“I am! I love it! I’m gonna keep scrolling through all these costumes while we’re talking.”
“Okay.”
“Have you ever seen the movie?”
“I did, years ago.”
“It was so good!”
“Bash did mention to me that he hoped you went more with the style of costumes in the Moulin Rouge music video rather than the ones in the movie.”
“Oh yeah! That video has Mya, Lil’ Kim, Pink, and Christina Aguilera in it and it is so sexy-hot. ‘Lady Marmalade’ is the title of the song and now I’m gonna have to listen to it. You do know what it’s about, right?”
“Ladies of the evening down in the French Quarter of New Orleans.”
“Correct. But do you know what they’re saying in the song when they speak French during the chorus?”
“I do not but I know you’re gonna tell me.”

“You must’ve taken French in high school because those words just rolled off your tongue like it was nothing.”
I chuckled. “No, I’ve never taken French, but I’ve sung along with that song so many times.”
“So is your excitement about all of this a yes to going to Bash’s party?”
“You couldn’t stop me.”
“He said you’d wanna go because you love a good party and you love to dance.”
“Yes, and I also love to dress up. Especially for you.”
“I can’t wait to see you in your costumeanddance. I know Bash is gonna want to dirty dance with you again. He met his match in you when it comes to doing that.”
I chuckled again. “What I can’t wait to do is see you inyourcostume and also dance withyouagain. The way we moved together at Candleroom was just…”
