My phone buzzes.

Dominic:Come to your front door.

My stomach does a little back flip as I head downstairs. It should probably concern me, how excited I am to see him. I write it off as being deprived of sex for too long.

That’s all. You’re just horny and desperate to come from something other than your own fingers.

I throw the front door open with a grin. Dominic steps inside, grabbing me by the waist and spinning me around. He shoves the door closed with his foot and pins me against it.

“Is Rosie in bed?” he whispers.

I nod.

“Thank fuck.” He buries his face in my neck, inhaling. “I haven’t been able to get you out of my head since lunch.”

My hands travel over his stomach and chest, hard beneath his soft black V-neck. How does he look so good in something so basic?

Dom lifts me off my feet, and my legs wrap around his waist. I fight the urge to kiss him, grinding my hips into him instead. He groans, pressing me into the door.

“Bed,” I order. “Now.”

As Dom moves, I run my fingers through his hair, kissing up his jawline. He squeezes my ass, walking softly down the upstairs hall.

In my room, he shuts the door and locks it. “You really got me earlier today.”

My heart stutters. “What do you mean?”

“Surprising me at the office like that. How did you manage to sneak past everyone? Someone should’ve stopped you.”

“I told you,” I reply as he sets me on the edge of the bed. “It was the clipboard.”

“I’m going to have a talk with my staff,” he grumbles, pushing me onto my back and crawling onto the bed with me. My legs part for him automatically, and he pushes one of his legs in between them, pressing against my clit.

“But if you do, I won’t be able to surprise you again.” I pout, sticking my bottom lip out, even though I have no intention of stepping foot into Grayson Security ever again.

Don’t think about that right now.

Dominic pauses, hovering over me. “However much I’d love to bend you over my desk and take you from behind, we can’t do that again. I meant what I said, Jade. No one can know about this. I can’t put you and Rosie at risk.”

What?

“At risk.”

“Shit.” He shakes his head in frustration. “I shouldn’t’ve said that. It’s not a big deal. I just... can’t be in a public relationship right now.”

Something happens in the back of my mind. A realization, or a connection, or a puzzle piece snapping into place.Too many coincidences,my brain nags. But I ignore it, because Dom is tracing his finger down my chin, my neck, my chest, so slowly I have to bite my lip to stop myself from begging him to go faster.

“Forget about it.”

There’s something so final about the way he says it. And I really don’t want to talk right now, so I nod. I tug his shirt up, not stopping until he tears it over his head. Instantly, I’m touching his chest, tracing over his tattoos.

He slides his hands under my shirt, leaning forward and kissing up my stomach. When he gets high enough, his fingers slip under the lace of my bralette. He palms my breasts before running the pads of his thumbs over my nipples. The tingling sensation pulls a whimper from my mouth, and I arch into his touch.

“So sensitive,” he murmurs, pushing my shirt and bralette up, exposing my skin to the cool air. He groans at the sight, dragging his face up the valley in between my breasts. “And so fucking perfect.”

I let out a frustrated sound when his tongue traces around my nipple, so close but so far. I arch my back, like I’m offering myself up to him, and I suppose in a way I am. I’d let him do anything to me right now.

The thought is what makes everything makes sense.
