The words were said without malice or glee. Just matter-of-fact. And yep, he was an idiot.

Xavier sucked in a breath. “She loves you now.”
“Yeah,” Brick said with an easy smile. “She does. Didn’t know I could feel like this. Feel this love. Feel this secure.”
Xavier didn’t get where he was going with this.
“She means everything to me. I want to put her first. Her needs.”
“What are you saying?”
Brick looked at him full-on. “I think we should share her.”
