I held the door open for her. “My brothers all wanted to be present for the interview but they aren’t here yet. I can give you a run down of the position before they arrive.”

“The position?” Now she looked amused. “You never did mention whichpositionI would be in.”

She was not taking this seriously.

My dick, on the other hand, was.

“Faith. We need to behave.”

“Do we?” she murmured.

“You. Me. We. Yes. We do.” I went up the stairs behind her, speaking those words at the very same time I was staring at her ass. I’d stayed out later the night before with Dylan than I intended to and my brain was a little sluggish. Or maybe that was because all the blood in my body had marched south to settle into a massive erection.

She didn’t reply, just waited at the top of the stairs for me.

“First door on the left.”

Faith eyed my office curiously. I hadn’t done much with it. It was just a glass box. I had put blinds on the three exposed walls though because I didn’t like glancing up from work and seeing my brothers in their respective offices. I couldn’t think when there was constant movement in front of me.

In football, you micro focus on movement. I’d been trained that way for two decades. Old habits die hard. I needed my office to be as private as possible.

Other than the blinds, I hadn’t hung anything on the walls, unlike Malcolm, who was a visual person. He had charts and white boards all over his office along with framed art of our logo, which was two swords crossed. We’d debated if it was too simple, but it read well on bottles and on social media.

Faith stood just inside my office, glancing around before turning to me, waiting for me to take the lead.

“Just as a fair warning, my brothers are going to grill you pretty hard,” I said. “Because of the importance of the position.”

“Which is?”

“Senior marketing manager.”

Her eyes widened. “Senior marketing manager? Why would you let me do that with no experience?”

“It’s the only position we have available. Dylan and I are the entirety of the marketing department. We’d basically all be a team working together.”

Which, saying that out loud, made me realize how stupid this idea might be.

“If I didn’t need a job desperately, I would let you off the hook,” she said. “Cash shouldn’t have put you on the spot like this. But I need a job desperately.”

“Which is why as long as you don’t start speaking in tongues or something, the job is yours. I can convince my brothers. I just need you to convince me of one thing.”

“Which is?”

“That you’ll keep our secret a secret.”

She set her purse down on my desk and crossed her arms over her chest. “You’re kidding.”

“No. Why would I be kidding?”

“It’s so important to you that Cash not know about us that you would risk your company’s financial health?”

It sounded insane when put that way. “Of course not. I’ll be overseeing everything you do.”

That sounded even more insane. And I found myself glancing around to see if anyone had heard her comment. “Do you want the job or not?”

“Oh, I want the job,” she said. “I’m going to kill it at this job. I can keep a secret. I won’t ever tell. Even if it happens again.”

I coughed. “If what happens again?”
