The laugh that bubbles up inside me echoes off the walls and jewelry cases.

With a moment’s hesitation, he holds out his left hand.

I slide the ring over his fingertip, then push the band past his knuckle. The breath sticks in my throat as the metal settles against his skin.

“How does it feel?” I ask.

“I’ll tell you once we’re married.”

My head snaps up to find his expression filled with pleasure, and with love.

“But it fits.”

“Yes, it fits. Now take it off before I do things to you that will get us kicked out of this boutique instead of saving them for our wedding night.”

Arousal has my skin heating.

Has anyone ever gone at it on the floor here, or would we be the first?

Instead of removing the ring, I wrap my hand around his. His warmth against the cool metal is sexy and exciting.

“I’ve seen all your moves, King.”

“On the contrary. You think I’ve shown you everything? A marriage is a contract. Like any other contract, the first order of business is to manage expectations.”

I arch a brow.

“Then overdeliver. Again. And again. And again.” When he bends his lips to my ear, I swallow my gasp.

The ring is suddenly in my palm.

Looking into his eyes, any doubts about this wedding are miles away.

“We’ll take it,” I declare to no one in particular.
