“Leave,” Xander spits out, glaring at Tristan.

Thankfully, he leaves without protest, just as he promised.

Xander keeps me by his side for the rest of the brunch. Blaze disappears for a while, and then reappears a couple minutes before Brooke does. Her eyes are a little red and puffy, but she pretends to be fine, laughing and joking with the rest of us.

And avoiding Blaze like the plague.

Curiosity pricks at me, but I ignore it. Brooke’s life is hers, and I’m not going to pry. Being too invasive of her personal life and pushing her away is the last thing I want.

Looking around at all my old friends circled around our table, chatting and making fun, my heart squeezes. I’ve missed them all so much. And dammit, I don’t want to push any of them away. I want them all back in my life. Forever.

Blaze’s deep laughs. Dominic’s calculating, serious expressions. Brooke’s sweetness and compassion. And Xander—all of Xander.

They used to be mine. And I almost didn’t survive when I lost them.

As people start leaving, I notice Everly staring at me. No—that’s not accurate. Glaring. I give her a patronizing smile and turn away, snaking an arm around Xander’s waist.

He smiles down at me with satisfaction, whispering in my ear, “Good to know you still like pissing off my mother.”

“Of course I do.” I kiss him on the cheek before smirking at Everly.

“God, it makes me want to fuck you even more. When we’re home, I’m going to rip this little thing off of you, tie you to the bed, and slam you into the mattress until we both pass out."

My cheeks heat, and I hope his voice is quiet enough that no one else hears. But Dominic is focused on his phone, and Blaze is trying—and failing—to discreetly watch Brooke as she talks to one of Everly’s friends.

“Actually,” Alexander says to me. “I think I’m ready now. Watching you move in this dress is pure torture.”

I smile up at him, feeling heat pool between my thighs. The thought of his hands on me is exhilarating, and it’s exactly what I need to distract myself from all the confusing thoughts in my head.

“Yes, please.”

“I’VE WANTED TO bury my dick in you all day.” Xander is standing behind me. His hands cup my breasts.

We’re in his room, after he steered his car home with one hand while fingering me with the other. And now, somehow, he’s managed to completely strip me down without taking off a single article of his own clothing.

I rest my head on his chest as he pinches my nipples. “All day? Didn’t you enjoy battling Tristan for me?”

He stiffens, pinching my nipples harder. “Don’t you dare say his name.”

I smirk. I knew mentioning Tristan would set him on edge—set off his possessive side. And what I need right now is for Xander to take me, to make me his, and make him mine in the process.

“Mmm, I’m curious though. Where would he have taken me? Do you think we would’ve ended up back at his place?”

“Sophia,” Xander growls. He’s pissed.

Good.

“He may be an asshole, but you know what? He always was a good kisser.”

“That’s enough.” He spins me around, forcing me to my knees. “You don’t get to speak about other men that way. Only me.”

His shorts are unzipped in a second, and his hard cock taunts me. When he presses it against my mouth, I open, licking him.

“You’re mine, Sophia. And only mine. The only name that will ever cross your lips is mine. You can whisper it. Moan it. Scream it. But only mine.”

He’s taken control, holding my hair and pumping inside me until tears fall from my eyes. But I don’t mind. Hell, I love it. When he picks up his pace, I can’t help but moan.

I could stay in this feeling forever—of being wholly his, of being his whole world. As I watch his face, I know there’s no other thought going through his head but me.
