Liv laughed harder.

“It’s so awkward!” Violet complained. “I even said this morning he should see my boobs to make it even.”

“You didn’t!”

Violet hid her face while Liv continued to laugh.

“And you know what’s worse? He even expected me to make fun of him, like I would go there.”

“To be fair, you do yell at him a lot,” Liv said.

“But not about how he looks! He can’t control how he looks, only how he acts, and besides… it’s not like there’s much to go at anyways.”

“I’m sorry, what? Say that again?”

“Ugh, you know what I’m saying.”

“No because the Violet I know would rather die than admit Charlie is attractive.”

“It’s been in my face since I’ve been staying with him, okay? And it was really in my face when he was naked after he got back from a run.”

“I mean, don’t tell Lewis this, but I have looked.”

“At his dick?”

“No! In general. He’s hot, not my type.” Liv looked like she wanted to say more but didn’t. “Anyways, did it cause a huge fight?”

“No, we’re barely able to speak to each other. It’s terrible.”

“But progress. Whatever you’re doing is working. Even if it is being ‘friends’ for the wedding.”

Violet shrugged. “The wedding deal never included me living with him.”

“But you’re trying, and it seems to be going well. This makes us so hopeful for the wedding, so thank you.”

“You’re welcome. I want your day to go well.” And it was going to. Violet would make sure of it.

Liv hugged her tightly. “Thank you. And when your wedding comes around, I’m doing all of this for you. Even if you’ll probably never find someone as hot as Charlie is.”

“Liv!” Violet admonished, going red in the face.

“Sorry, I couldn’t resist!” Liv said, laughing. “Anyways, let’s get to decorating. Do you think a twelve-foot-tall tree would fit over here?”

Charlie

Charlie spent the day bored. Weekends were usually the time that he had to try and take care of his house, and now Violet had taken over that task. He wasn’t sure what to do with himself.

In the morning, he played with Roo and cleaned her litter, a chore he knew he was going to hate. Luckily it wasn’t too bad but having to clean poop in the haunted basement where his cat’s litter was wasn’t not high on his list of fun things to do.

He then played some video games online with Lewis, who had been forced into taking a break by Liv. Lewis had been throwing himself into working overtime to make sure they had enough money for their honeymoon, and he had been so busy that Charlie barely had talked to him.

For a bit, all they did was play their games and chat about day-to-day stuff. As Charlie felt himself grow tired of games, Lewis suggested they talk.

“Are you busy tomorrow?” Lewis asked.

“No, why?” Charlie replied.
