“So, you’ll wait until I get there?”

“Yes, Odysseus, I’ll wait until you get here.”

“Thanks, babe.”

She blushed lightly as she smiled. “You know, telling me to do something in that annoying voice won’t work every time.”

“Yeah, I’ll remind you of that when I have my head between your legs.”

The sound of Adriana gasping was so loud it woke Paige, her roommate, who was sleeping on the bed opposite hers. Adriana clasped a hand over her mouth, waving at Paige and mouthingsorry. After a few seconds and a few annoyed grunts, Paige rolled over and continued sleeping. Adriana glanced at her phone and saw Odysseus had ended the call. Smiling at his sense of humor, she got up to change clothes and wait for him. Only now she was wondering if this was the night he got her to open her legs so he could cross through them.

* * *

Odysseus thrashed Adriana so soundly she was still scowling at the screen several minutes after they stopped playing. He was showing her his collection of comic books, most of them still in their wrappers, when he looked up to find she wasn’t even listening to him.

“You’re trying to figure out how come I made you look like it was the first time you’ve ever held a gamepad in your hand, aren’t you?”

Adriana turned away from the corner where the console and TV were mounted and looked at him. “Not bragging here or anything, but it was more me playing rubbish than you being that good.”

“I know.”

Adriana appeared startled. “You know?”

“Yeah, you were thinking about that ‘I’ll put my head between your legs’ thing.”

This time she gasped slightly and looked away. “No, I wasn’t.”

“Come on, Ari, I know what the look you’ve been giving me all night means. The question is, why do you seem so affected by that statement? I’ve not exactly hidden my attraction to you or restricted my language.”

Adriana shrugged, still not meeting his eye. “It’s nothing. I was just surprised by it, that’s all.”

“Nah, that’s not it. You know what I think?” He returned the comic book in his hand to the small space on the shelf where the others were and took her hand as he led her back to the couch. “I think you’re thinking about this too much. So much, in fact, you forgot how to do something I know is second nature to you, because you realized you want me to really put my head between your legs.”

Her head came up sharply as she glared at him. “Hell no, I don’t.”

“Why not?”

Adriana’s head went higher. “What do you mean? It’s not really . . . my thing.”

“How would you know your thing when you’ve not really done anything?” He moved closer to her. “You want to tell me you’re not even the least bit curious?”

She shrugged. “Of course, I am. I mean—”

“That’s all I needed to hear,” he cut her off, crowding her until she was looking into those dark eyes that seemed to steal her very breath away.

“I don’t think I’ll want it or anything like that,” she kept speaking as if he hadn’t said a word. “I just wonder—”

“Ari, shut up and kiss me.”

She clamped her mouth shut as she stared at him. Then gave up and gave in. Why argue with him when giving in was so deliciously sweet? She leaned up, and her lips met his.

The first meeting of their mouths was electrifying, and Adriana instinctively clutched at his chest to steady herself. Soft and easy, Adriana found herself tipping into him as she realized he was letting her dictate the pace of this, allowing her control over this. But after a few pleasure-filled seconds, when she was content in the taste of her lips on his, she felt his hands come up to grab her waist as he bent into her until her back was resting on the couch and his body was halfway on top of hers. Those hands glided up, leaving goosebumps on her arms, and he held them in a cage she had no desire to break away from. She moaned in protest when he lifted his head and looked down at her, watching as her chest rose and fell.

“You have no idea how beautiful you are, you enchanting seductress.”

Adriana blushed and looked away. “You don’t need to flatter me or anything Odysseus. I know—”

“You know what you want to know. What you don’t want to know is the truth that everyone else sees.” He leaned in close to her. “How about I show you the truth instead?”
