He turned toward me, looking absolutely wrecked and confused. I tilted my head, reaching for his arm. Dean let a warning growl loose and I shot him a glare over my shoulder before giving Luke’s arm a small squeeze.

“I messed things up.”

“What did you mess up?”

“My relationship with Sam.”

I sighed, shaking my head. “Oh, Luke. You could never mess up your relationship with her. I’ve seen the way she looks at you - you’ve got nothing to worry about.”

Luke shook his own head, looking ready to argue with me. He opened his mouth with what I was sure was a compelling argument for why he was sure he messed up his relationship with Sam, but then snapped it shut, looking over my head. I turned around, glancing at Dean, who was looking in the same direction Luke was staring.

Sam walked up the staircase and into her house. I sighed, repeating the thought of hating how wolves had the upper hand on things happening around us. I walked over to the small couch and threw myself on it. I crossed my arms and waited for Sam to walk into the room.

She walked in, slowing to a stop as she realized that Dean and Luke were staring at her and I was glaring at the floor. “What’s…going on?”

“Nothing,” Luke and Dean answered at the same time. I barked out a laugh.

“Okay…well, it’s time for some girl time. Dean, Luke, get lost.” Sam pointed at the door, waiting for Dean and Luke to do what she said. I looked up at her, a bit surprised at how take charge she was being. I watched Luke and Dean glance at each other and then meekly walk out. The door closed behind them and Sam turned back to me.

“How the hell did you do that?’

“Do what?”

“Make them go away?”

“Luke respects my space. If I tell him to leave, he does. I don’t really have to make himdoanything. He just does what I need him to do. He’s really supportive like that. I’m lucky to have him as a friend,” Sam responded with a shrug. I tilted my head at her again.

“Alright, we’ll worry about those two idiots later. For now, we’ve got a lot of things to go over.”

I nodded and shifted in my seat, unfolding my arms and clasping my hands in my lap. I was excited to learn what Sam had to teach me. I’ve been waiting for answers for so long and I was thrilled to finally be getting them.

Dean

Luke leads me out of Sam’s house and shuts the door behind us. I scowl at the closed door and wait for Luke to join me where I was standing. He crossed his arms when he got to my side, sighing heavily. I watched a few of his pack members walk by us, giving me a stink eye and looking pissed.

“So, how much is my mistake going to cause you a headache?” I asked. Luke barked out a laugh.

“Oh, a lot.”

“I figured. Anything I can do to help?”

“Leave.”

I laughed. “I can’t. I have to get answers for Jason and Lily. Besides, I’m not letting Amara back into that castle without knowing what she is and how to protect Jason and Lily from her.”

It was Luke’s turn to laugh. He rubbed the back of his neck. “You know what she is, Dean. You’re just ignoring it for some reason.”

“What is she then?”

“She’s a witch, Dean. You’re just being dense about it.”

I blew out a breath and rubbed a hand down my face. I had no idea what this meant for the future. Amara being a witch meant that things were going to change a lot. I had no idea how to protect Lily and Jason with from a witch. I knew that Luke was part witch but he was also a wolf. He knew what it meant to be a part of our society.

“So?” Luke prompted.

“What do I do with this?”
