ALEJANDRO

Back at the hotel.

“Well.Well… Well. Where have you been, brother?”

Francisco barges in, dragging in a fresh scent of aftershave.

The fucker looks amazing. Rested, smiling, tanned. I bet he’s spent the entire day at the gym. Or doing laps in the pool or sleeping.

He’s truly ready for the evening.

I hide a smile.

“Why the fuck do you care?” I toss at him.

He shuts the door and clasps his hips, his V-shaped torso on display.

He wears a pair of soft, clinging sweatpants that sit low on his hips, almost revealing his shaft and a towel around his neck.

His piercing eyes dive deep into mine before moving over my clothes.

Unperturbed, I remove my watch.

“You left this morning,” he says in a softer voice, moving closer. “Where were you the entire day?”

I peer down, unbuttoning my shirt.

“Out.”

“Out where?”

I look down my nose at him. I know how curious he is and how difficult it is for him to stay away from it, especially when it ignites his imagination.

“I traveled up north.”

“North?”

He laughs.

“As in South Carolina north?” he jokes. “Or North Carolina north?”

“Haha. Funny.”

“Seriously.”

I yank my shirt off and toss it on the bed.

“Seriously. I went to the club, spent an hour over there, and drove up north.”

“How far north?”

“Palm Beach.”

His lips split into an incredulous smile.

“Palm Beach? What were you looking for in Palm Beach?”
