But I imagine us again, a little older and a lot wiser. I imagine her head bobbing against my straining cock as I push my hands into her golden hair. I moan, raising my hips. Hands wrap around my length, taking in more as I hiss and groan. She gags a little but eagerly takes in another stiff inch as her short nails dig into my thighs.

Gasping, I cup her cheeks with my hands and block everything out except the sensation of her tongue on my skin. I let it go. I pretend it’s Olivia’s mouth I’m exploding into. When I open my eyes, I moan, not from desire but from the pain of returning to reality.

Nikki stands and then hops up onto a barstool, placing her lips near mine. I stare nastily into her face and then look away.

“I swallowed it all, baby.”

I untangle her arms from around my neck. “You better go. I don’t have a condom.”

Nikki loops her arms back around my neck as I take a swig of beer. “You can pull out.”

“Don’t even try to baby trap me.”

The smile falls off her face as her gaze turns to stone. She gets off the stool, grabs her stuff, and heads for a door. She ends up in the closet instead of the bathroom but rolls with it, putting her clothes on in there.

“You don’t need to be an asshole,” she says.

“I got you an Uber. Would Prince Charming do that?”

“Don’t even try talking to me again,” she shouts from behind the door. “Walk away when you see me coming.”

It’s all for show as she slowly laces her boots, hoping I’ll change my mind, but it wasn’t BS. I did call her an Uber, and it’s waiting in front of the door.

The minute the car pulls off, I put my jacket on and head out. Olivia’s address isn’t too far from mine, only a few minutes away. I stay out of sight and skirt the back alleyways, getting there in seconds. I wait motionless and watch her front door. For all I know, she could already be inside, but my persistence pays off as a Range Rover pulls up to the curb. The car looks vaguely familiar, but I can’t place it.

In a second, the interior light shines, and there’s a blonde in the passenger seat. It has to be Olivia, and I wait, straining to see clearly in the dark. If Lucas touches her, I will pull his ass out of that car and beat him until he’s begging Olivia to break up with him.

Holding up her hand, Olivia pulls away when he tries to go in for a kiss. Good. She leans against the door as she unlocks it and hops out. He waits for her to enter the apartment before driving off.

I pull out my smartphone and focus on her apartment window. She comes into view, looks out, and then quickly pulls the blinds down. One day, I’ll get the photo I want.

I head back to my apartment alone. People walk by me and stare as I swear to myself. But, no one sane bothers me as I walk down the street. The whole neighborhood knows I did time, but they haven’t guessed the reason why.

In the afternoon, I head into the bar and grab my apron as Norris watches me put it on.

“I thought you had school today,” he questions me.

“Yeah, but I still have hours here.”

He shrugs and soon loses interest in watching me as I push a broom over the stained wood floor. I suspect he thinks I’m some ungrateful ass who’s going through major angst. But I can’t get over what happened three years ago—what I suffered, what I should never have gone through. All because of a lie. A filthy lie that Olivia’s father was more than willing to believe and tell. I thought Olivia was sweet and innocent until she revealed what she was deep down to her core. And when she finally did show me how she felt, it was too late.

“If I was prettier, would you love me?”

I smile. “You must already be very pretty then.”

She smiles up at me. “I wish I was older. I wish I looked like the other girls in their bathing suits.” She looks down at her flat chest, and I look away.

“You’re perfect, and besides, before you know it, you’ll be older and wishing you were young again.”

She smiles. “Will you wait for me? It’s only two years, and then I’ll be old enough to leave.”

“You make me sound so old. We’re only a year apart.”

“But it seems ages,” she sighs. “You have to wait.”
