He was going to die and no one could stop me. Too bad I didn’t have my gun. Well, I didn’t need it. I punched him hard, breaking several bones at once, and he squeaked like a pig. Blood poured out of his mouth and I was just getting started. At this point, I wasn’t controlling myself anymore. I was filled with violence, rage, and despair.

This bastard had to die.

My job was done.Sebastian was going to kill that poor guy, so I quickly jumped off the table, grabbed my dress, and put it on. My hands were shaking and adrenaline was rushing through my body. I raced out of the room, down the wide corridor.

Tears were streaming down my cheeks. I told myself that this needed to be done, that this was the only way for me to create a distraction, away from me.

Only half an hour earlier, when I stood in the main room talking to Vinny and trying to figure out where Senator Johnson had gone off to, another man walked up to me. He was sent by Sofia, who apparently wanted to have a chat with me. I was consciously waiting for her to appear, so when the man told me to go with him, I agreed.

Sebastian had vanished again and I knew I had to confront that bitch. If she was really involved with the feds, then this was what I’d been waiting for all this time, but without any evidence, I couldn’t do much.

The guy was Russian, tall and handsome. He led me into an office situated at the back of the residence. It was probably one of many offices in here as the mansion was truly spectacular. People were partying, having a great time, and I was putting myself at risk. I promised Sebastian that I was going to be careful, but I didn’t think Sofia would dare make risky moves at this particular event. He asked me to enter and then disappeared.

I took a deep breath and entered. It was a spacious room, filled with books and a large desk in the middle. Sofia sat behind the desk and it looked like she was writing something on a piece of paper.

“Marinka, take a seat,” she offered.

“I’d rather stand, thanks,” I said. She was alone and I noticed she didn’t have any guards in close proximity, which meant she wasn’t afraid of me. This wasn’t any kind of planned confrontation.

She nodded and then took something out of an envelope.

“Okay, well, have a look. Some of these pictures may interest you.” She placed a few photographs on the desk, facing me. I stepped closer to take a look. In one picture, she was embracing Sebastian in what seemed to be a living room, and in another, he was kissing her. It looked a lot like the penthouse Sebastian owned—I’d seen it a few times already when he needed to pick up something from his office there. I’d hoped it would job my memory, but it never had.

My mind started spinning.

“These could have been photoshopped. Sebastian was with me all the time,” I said, staying calm because this was the truth. Well, except when he went to work. Sebastian wouldn’t do this to me, would he? He was loyal. She smiled at me and sighed. That red dress looked good at her. I didn’t want to be pulled into her games though, even if the photographs were real. There must have been an explanation.

“You’re right. These photographs could be photoshopped but the truth is that Sebastian did fuck me when you were asleep in the hospital. I came to see him at his penthouse and he took me to his bedroom. He was very angry with himself, but I reminded him how much fun we used to have, how much he desired to inflict pain with the pleasure. After that, we did it on your bed—the one you shared with him. He put a huge black dildo in my ass and the whole experience was glorious Marinka. I loved every minute of it.” She grinned.

I swallowed, determined not to believe in anything that was coming out of her mouth. But what if it was true? Fact was, I’d been asleep for years. He had every right to seek lovers—but then why lie to me about it?

“You would say anything right now because you know I won. He’s never going to leave me for you,” I stated.

“I wish that was the truth, but you remember the night when you were shopping for funeral clothes for you dear father? He told you he needed to go to the club, but he lied to you because he came to see me. He lied to you then and he lied before. See the picture. Look at it, Marinka. He’s even wearing the same clothes. We talked and then I masturbated in front of him. He licked my fingers just before he went down on me.”

CHAPTER30

Marinka

I didn’t wantto believe her. My mind was telling me to be reasonable, but my heart was breaking into a million different pieces. She was right. Sebastian had left me in the boutique and then he went to see her. She couldn’t have made this up, because I was staring at all the evidence. He’d lied.

Suddenly, it was hard to breathe. I was feeling physically sick and I wanted to throw up. Her words affected me but I couldn’t let her see that.

“All right, so let’s say it’s true. What now? We both know Sebastian doesn’t want you and it doesn’t matter what you’re going to offer him,” I said, surprised at how calm I was until the images from the past started assaulting my mind.

I placed my hand on my head, which was hurting so much. All of a sudden, I was sucked into a series of flashbacks—memories that weren’t there before. My head felt like it was just about to explode.

I placed my hand around my waist, holding myself. The pain in my head became excruciating.

“Oh, he will,” Sofia said. “He just doesn’t know it yet. We both know he was with you because he pitied you. There was never any love and these pictures prove that.” She spoke as if she had no care in the world. She felt entitled to be with him, to have him as her lover and partner. Damn, I never thought I could hate someone as much as I hated this woman right now.

“You’re wrong. He loves me and you’re pathetic. And trust me when I say this, you will never have him.”

“Sell me your father’s territory and give me his suppliers and I will let you live somewhere else. It’s the only thing that is missing in my portfolio,” she said, leaning back in the chair and staring down at her nails.
