Now, this whole situation was starting to piss me off, because they were bringing too much attention to themselves and me. I was supposed keep a low profile here, especially after everyone had found out about Russina recently. Also, he was distracting me from my main goal: to keep an eye on Marinka.

“Ladies and gents, Senator Johnson is asking for you,” a short man with balding hair said, approaching our group. He glanced at me, Milo, and Sparky. I finished the whiskey and nudged my younger brother.

“Just leave her alone. She’s not relevant and we have business to attend to,” I reminded my him while he was scowling at his date. Soon, we were all rushed into one of the conference rooms upstairs. I wanted to find Marinka, but she was nowhere to be seen and I couldn’t get out of business. I just had to trust she was taking care of herself.

Senator Johnson was waiting for us with a few of men he described as his advisors. I had spoken to someone else that was close to him several days ago about my recent expansion. I never thought Vlad was going to be relevant, but I had been so wrong. Now that Marinka had taken over the business and wanted to run it with me, I realized his territory was lucrative and his suppliers priceless, so no wonder Johnson brought this up as soon as we all sat down.

“This is all excellent news, Sebastian. My condolences to your wife. Have you made some sort of agreement with the Russians? With Ms. Anishenko?” he asked after we exchanged all the pleasantries.

I should have suspected the man would want to hear more about my plans, but I still hadn’t figured out his motivations. My conflict with the Italians complicated things for a lot of people. The senator was probably receiving a generous donation from Sofia.

I looked at my brothers. Milo shifted on his chair, and Sparky was as usual disinterested.

“We made a deal with her cousin, Marcus, but he was killed a few months ago. Things were going well for a while, but then she refused to deliver a few of our shipments,” I explained, because that fucking moron needed to know I wasn’t happy with the bitch.

I thought he’d brought us here to ease the tension between some of our families, but it looked like I was wrong again.

“Apparently, this was an unfortunate accident, Mr. Dimitrei,” he commented, smiling.

Just then, a waitress rolled in a trolley laden with several drinks. The tension was getting to me. I knew Marinka wanted to be here because we were eventually going to discuss her father’s business, but I heard that Johnson was easily offended, so leaving wouldn’t look good on any of us.

“Marcus was assassinated and then, once Ms. Anishenko took over, she decided to change our deal,” I snapped. I wasn’t going to explain myself to this guy. He didn’t get how our world worked. All he had to do was to show up in the senate, smile for the camera, play with the lobbyists, and lie back while his young wife sucked his fat cock. He never worried if his children or ex-wife would come home in the evening.

“I believe you accepted his deal and then dismissed the Italians, which then led them to targeting your wife. She was shot and I believe she ended up in a coma?” the senator enquired, taking a glass of champagne off the table.

“Yes. Gino Valenti almost succeeded in killing my wife. Luckily, she came around and then, her father was killed by a car bomb. But what is your point, Senator?” I asked, because I was fed up that he was tiptoeing around this subject, taking the long way around. He needed to get to the point and tell me what why he called me here. So, I told him the whole story before he asked me for it.

“My point is that we have to work together to strengthen this connection. I’ve been apprised that Ms. Anishenko would like to take over some of the territory your wife recently acquired from her father,” Johnson added in a meaningful tone.

Sparky shook his head and laughed, while I was ready to show this motherfucker what I thought about his proposition. This whole thing wasn’t about straightening the connections and building new relationships. The esteemed senator was licking Sofia’s ass, doing the dirty work for her. That bitch wasn’t getting Vlad’s territory—at least not until I was still alive.

I should have seen this coming. I relaxed and released the breath I’d been holding. My brother was staring at me—no doubt silently praying for me not to blow up.

“Well, Senator, you truly have outdone yourself today,” I snarled. I slammed my fist on the table, making all the glasses rattle on the tray. “I’m not interested in this sort of deal, so you can get back to Ms. Anishenko and tell her to go fuck herself. She ain’t getting that territory and she ain’t getting my suppliers. This is the end of this discussion.”

I couldn’t be any clearer, but I needed to get some leverage over that bitch, otherwise, we were all going to be dead within weeks.

“That’s disappointing, Sebastian. I thought I could reason with you. She had offered you seventy percent of her profits. That’s generous and we both know how useful the Russian influence can be.”

“Thank you, but no, and if you excuse me, I have to find my wife,” I said, getting up. The all-familiar rage was spreading to every single cell inside my body, so it was time to get out of there.

I strolled through the empty corridors, passing the waitresses who were carrying more drinks until I got to the top of the stairs. For a moment, I looked down at the room filled with guests.

Milo was calling out to me, but I wasn’t listening until I spotted her in the crowd. Sofia was staring at me. Decked in a short red dress, she was talking to a group of men.

I clenched my fists, cutting the circulation to my fingers. Then, she lifted her glass, as if toasting me.

I made to storm down the stairs when I heard a familiar moaning sound. In the past several months, ever since Marinka woke up and I made her orgasm for the first time since, I could recognise her moans anywhere.

The blood was drumming in my ears when I stood outside the door where her moans were come from. Without thinking, I kicked the door open and burst inside the room. For a moment, I thought there was something wrong with my vision, because Marinka was on all fours on the table, wearing only her panties and no bra.

“Hello, Sebastian. So glad that you could join us.” She giggled, appearing not at all surprised. Her ass was red and her lipstick was smeared all over her mouth. There was a guy there, too, and he was obviously aroused. His breathing was laboured and it seemed he had just spanked my fucking wife.

“What the fuck is this?” I growled, thinking that maybe my mind was playing some sort of trick on me, but no … this truly was happening. This asshole that I had never seen before had touched my property.

“Nothing. We are just having a bit of fun,” Marinka said, then moved her hand over her breasts before slipping her fingers inside her mouth. “Nick here just came over my tits and he tastes amazing.”

I was done then, lost in the rage and blinded by the smell of sweat and sex that lingered in the air. The guy backed away in terror when I roared and threw myself at him. I didn’t have to think about it. I was ready to kill him.
