But he didn’t let go of me. Instead, he grinded his hard and thick erection right between my buttocks. I inhaled sharply, feeling a surge of arousal burst through my core. He trailed his lips to my cheek and knew then that I wanted him, even though I was never going to admit that. It was getting harder to simply stand on my feet. Damn it…

“It seems that you changed after your little nap, teacup,” he muttered before thrusting his hips forward so I could feel him—allof him.

We fit perfectly together, like we belonged. But he wasn’t playing fair, and he knew what the hell he was doing. I should have come back with something witty and smart, but all my brain cells must have flown the coop. “No other man can ever touch your beautiful body. I don’t want anyone else to look at your bare skin or even think about touching you because I would instantly rip their limbs apart, one by one, until their screams of agonising pain could be heard in the heart of Siberia. Do you understand me, Marinka?”

“Oh … there you are. I was looking for you guys,” came another voice, and Sebastian pulled away from me instantly. I let out a sigh of relief when Dr. Stephens came to stand next to Lilly, his face beaming. “Just look at you catching some rays, Ms. Dimitrei,” he said with satisfaction.

While Lilly spoke to him, I gathered my withs and smoothed my dressing gown. This was the second time I’d seen Sebastian since I came to and he was already driving me crazy with his absurd demands and domineering personality. I shuddered to think what he’d be like at home.

Speaking of which—where was home? Another question for another time, because I’d had it up to hear dealing with this impossible man.

“I was just about to return Marinka to her room. I think she needs to rest a bit more. This was a pretty emotionally challenging day for her,” Sebastian said.

God, this was so embarrassing because my whole body was still burning. What was wrong with me?

Lilly was yawning now. Perhaps she’d run out of batteries and needed a nap, too.

“Yes, it must have been, but once she gets a few more physio sessions she should be able to go home,” the physician said, sounding cheerful.

“About that, is there anyone else who could take over? I don’t think Dr. Mike is a good fit for her? I’d like to meet whoever you assign to her ahead of time, to avoid wasting time,” Sebastian requested, and my jaw dropped.

I couldn’t believe he wasn’t going to let this go. It seemed I was truly married to an ogre who expected to make all my decisions for me.

Well, we’d wait and see, but I was just as stubborn. The old Marinka was dead, and the new one wasn’t just going to lie down and take his nonsense.

Bring it on.

CHAPTER7

Sebastian

I spentthe ride back home with Lilly in a state of pent-up rage. Good thing Pedro was driving. Marinka must have grown some balls while she was asleep. She wasn’t the same helpless and naive girl I’d met on that yacht years ago. She was now a confident woman, which turned me on to an infinite degree, but that was beside the point. I didn’t care if that Mike was her, physiotherapist, personal trainer, or hairstylist—he wasn’t going to touch her.

Unfortunately, Stephens refused to swap him for someone else, stating he was the best and the hospital was currently at full capacity, meaning he didn’t have staff to spare.

It didn’t matter however at this point. I just needed to get Marinka back home, so then I could punish her for defying me. In my dreams, everything went without a hitch. I’d administer my punishment, just like I did when we were first together. That might actually help her remember.

Whatever the case, she belonged to me, and I didn’t care what she thought was best for her. Money was no object—she could get back in shape with a physiotherapist of my choosing.

Lilly had fallen asleep in the car. All of the excitement had gotten to her. Just like it had me. I should be taking it slow with Marinka, but her stubborn behavior took me by surprise.

Her boldness turned me on. In one minute, we were walking and talking, and the next, I had her in my arms, fantasizing about doing all sorts of things to her. I was so fucking hard, it was almost painful. Her body remembered mine well, even if her mind was telling her to run. Marinka couldn’t hide the fact that she wanted me. She loved being so close to me and I bet she was pissed that I wanted to interfere in her treatment plan. She was fucking mine. She was my precious little teacup that I needed to protect at all cost.

When we got to the house, I carried a sleeping Lilly to her bedroom, then made a few phone calls to ensure Mike would be busy with another job over the next few days. After that, I let Penelope, my housekeeper and cook, know Marinka would be coming home soon. She was thrilled at the news.

I needed a shower and some alone time to process everything that had happened, so I walked upstairs to decompress.

The days following my last meeting with Marinka were dragging, and I caught myself constantly checking the time. People I worked with asked me if everything was all right. I was agitated and out of sorts. Until Thursday, the day when my wife was finally being discharged from the hospital.

I drove there while Lilly waited at home with her nanny. She was so excited to see her. This child had only seen Marinka while she was in coma and yet, she treated her like they had known each other forever. Lilly had already lined up all her teddies in our bed, so her mommy wouldn’t be scared in the night. I went along with it, because I didn’t want to tell her that her mother and I were going to be sleeping in separate rooms for now. At least until she remembered…

I stood outside the hospital room for a little while before I knocked and entered. She was dressed in a purple jumpsuit that brought out the contour of her ass cheeks, and her bag was already packed. This was a going to be an interesting day and I was looking forward to finally have her with us.

“Are you ready, teacup?” I asked, startling her a little.

She turned to face me, giving me the side eye. A flash of annoyance crossed her face, probably at hearing my term of endearment for her. I could stop calling her that but I needed to hold on to something familiar. Something comfortable.

“Yes, let’s go,” she snapped. All right, she was definitely pissed at me. The change in her was real—from naïve and compliant to assertive and strong.
