“I hope they're all knocked out. Maybe we'll manage to get all of these, but I have a feeling that there are more, and they are at the other parks.”

“How can there be so many?”

“Earth has no defenses against aliens. All they needed was to get a ship and they can get here. There are many gaps where there are none of our ships orbiting. Anyone with his spaceship can get through at that time. Once we get settled in here, we intend to build a few spaceships so that we can give this planet some security. Until then, anyone can get through.” Landra admitted.

“Doesn't your home planet have any extra ships?”

“They're using many of them to bring people in and to move people to colonies. Our world also does a great deal of trading and will do more once we get things settled in here. I'm afraid that extra ships will be our problem. Getting this country brought up to better standards is costing our world a great deal of money. There are people coming here who need help and that is using up a great deal of money too. I'm sure now that you're queen you will be seeing more information so that you can better understand these things.”

Toni wondered if she was right. Then she wondered if she really wanted to know some of these things. It was a lot to wrap her head around. Not just aliens but they were also shifters. And apparently some of her ancestors had been shifters too. Toni was sure those ancestors had been from long ago. The tales on Earth of dragons weren't recent but it was possible that many of them would resurface now.

“We’re almost to the resort. How are our males doing?” Landra asked.

“Every once in a while, one of them will move or make a noise but other than that it looks like they are out still.”

“Don't worry, the scent from the medicine is not really strong and it is a common one often used on enemies that they also use on us when they can get it. That makes me wonder where they got it from.”

“That's just one of the things that I wonder. They seemed too prepared for us. Even though I hate to think so, it seems someone told them.” Toni mentioned.

“It may also be that they thought you were basically honeymooning and would not be expecting this.”

“It's possible but I hope we check all the possibilities just to be sure. I did not enjoy this and hope not to have to go through this again.”

“I would be surprised if you could escape ever going through something like this again. Most of our royals have this happen regularly.” Landra observed

. Toni wasn't sure if she considered this too much information or if she was glad, she had the warning. All she knew for sure was she intended to get all the training that she could. Luck had been on her side because she didn't know if any training would have helped with what she'd had to do. It was amazing that she and Landra had managed to accomplish what they had.

The resort came into view, and they pulled in. As they came inside, they were met with some of the leaders. Toni was approached by the highest one and she quickly explained to him what the situation was, and he sent someone outside to move the shuttle to where they could unload the males. next he sent someone in a bus to the park to see if anyone was left there. It wouldn't be long before they would know. Several groups were gathered, and they were sent out to the parks to either warn or recover those who had been sent there.

No one would deny that this was a mess and everyone who knew about it wondered how this could happen. Toni and Landra went straight to medical where their guys would be taken. She was thrilled to see someone she knew in medical. It was Amy. She had thought that Amy would be gone when the ship left. Ranger must have asked them to leave her for now.

“I'm so glad to see you.” Toni said. She explained what had happened to the two males so that Amy would know what she was going to be dealing with.

“Thank you. If this is something that is used often, I should have no trouble seeing how these kinds of things are usually dealt with. Hopefully there is some kind of antidote that can be used. Otherwise, I'm afraid we'll just have to give them fluids, sweat them out, and wait until it runs its course.”

About that time, the two guys were carried in and placed on the beds. Even though they were both a little restless, she didn't feel like they looked very good. Those darts weren't very good for anyone and repeated use, well who knew what that would do to a person. Amy took a blood test and scanned to be sure she knew what they were working with.

“It is a strong tranquilizer that usually takes the victim out completely. How long that lasts depends on the individual it's used on and how much of it is used. There are things that can be done to reduce the effects but nothing I would call a true antidote. I see nothing you can do here so I would suggest you go get some rest so that you are ready when they wake. Normally I would say hold their hand, but I am not sure the effect this would have if you are carrying.”

“I believe Landra was drugged just not as strong as our males.” Toni explained.

“I should check you out.” Amy suggested.

“That's all right. I've had the shots given to me before and it was much stronger that time. Generally, it works out on its own and that is the way we deal with it.”

Chapter 9

Tying Things Up

Ranger’s head was throbbing, and his body aches were competing with it. He remembered being shot out of the sky and hitting every limb on a very big tree as he fell. It was no wonder that he felt as he did. If he was a prisoner, it was odd that the bed he lay on was comfortable. his mind was telling him he needed to rouse and see what was going on but his body said to hell with that let's go back to sleep. But he was a leader and that meant he would have to suffer to do the right thing.

He groaned and he immediately drew the attention of someone sitting nearby. “Can you hear me? Are you all right?”

“Yes.” He answered. “Heard you.”

“Do you need a drink and can you sit up.”

“Rather sleep.”
