I couldn’t remember feeling so safe in my life. Or so damned turned on. Judging by the rod sticking into my leg, Bain felt it too.

Knox muttered something in his sleep and let out a soft moan. That made three of us then.

I tried to sit up, but Bain pinned me down. His hand moved to cup my breast.

I was eighty-three percent sure he was still asleep. That was the only reason I hesitated, then moved his hand off my breast. If he was awake, I'd be down for anything.

Okay, if we also weren't lying in the dirt, surrounded by other people who were starting to wake.

His fingers brushed my nipple, sending a jolt of heat right through me. Holy fuck, it was going to be a long day, with nowhere to hide, and no time to be alone if I needed to relieve some tension. No way I would let myself do that while riding Yard, especially with Aisha in front of me. Or anyone else, for that matter. I suspected the Dragonesque wouldn't mind, but I could never look him in the eyes again.

Bain grunted softly, then jerked awake. He didn't immediately move his arm off me. Instead, he rested his hand lightly on my hip and traced circles with the tip of his finger.

"We should get up," I whispered. And I should really keep my distance, like I told myself I would. So far, I sucked at doing that.

Obviously.

"Yes." He didn't move for a while. He went on tracing circles for another minute or two. Reluctantly, he drew his hand back and rolled away.

My back was immediately cold. I almost told him to come back, but he was on his feet.

Knox stirred as I untangled myself from him.

"Hey," he said softly. "I thought I was dreaming."

"No," I whispered in reply. "We're still stuck in the middle of nowhere with some dragon shifters, while people are out there trying to kill us."

He exhaled softly. "That wasn't what I was dreaming about."

I breathed a chuckle. "I figured."

"You're better than a dream," he said.

"I can honestly say no one has said that to me before." Worse than a nightmare, maybe, but not this. "You're pretty amazing yourself." Yep, I was winning at keeping him and Bain at arm's length. When this was over, I would at least try. Maybe.

"I'm not too bad," he said modestly.

"Not as good as me," Bain said. Obviously he'd been listening while we talked.

"Wow, you guys are something," I said playfully.

"We really are," Knox said. "But not as much as you." He pressed a lingering kiss to my mouth.

I kissed him back, my tongue sliding across his lips, until Kayley cleared her throat loudly.

"We should get moving," she declared.

Pussy blocker.

Okay, even if I hadn't decided not to act on my pent up lust, she didn't have to spoil our fun.

Only—she did, because she was right. We really did need to get a move on.

Knox made a face, but rose, taking me with him.

I had to duck to avoid taking the tent with us, but somehow managed. I helped the guys to untie the knots and fold the fabric.

"It's not glamping, but it did the trick," I remarked.
