Stopping short, he cleared his throat. “Harker, you are dismissed, and Lucy, please walk on and ensure your rooms are ready for the two of you, please.”
Mina frowned at him in confusion, and he looked down at her through his lashes. He lifted his hand to her cheek and as his knuckles brushed along her skin, she shivered, biting her lower lip, drawing blood to the surface.
“Tell me what you want, Mina. Give it a voice and I will do everything in my power to make it happen,” he said. “I’ll give you whatever you need.”
She looked up at him, warring with her own mind for a moment, and then swallowed. “No strings. For one night, no strings, no blood, no judgment. Just…us.”
He exhaled a long breath. “I was really hoping you’d say that.”
Catching her face between his hands, he gently guided her head back and met her lips with a hard kiss. Mina’s hands found his waist, and she moaned. His hands slid down to her backside, and he squeezed pressing her against him hard enough that he knew she could feel his growing erection.
“Are you sure you want this?” He asked against her lips. He prayed she said yes. If not, he’d surely do something he’d regret instead.
