“Tor. . .” I start to argue, but he interrupts me.
“Don’t argue. You nearly cost us this security gig. I had to listen to the agent ranting on the phone for fifteen fucking minutes, and then the organizer, which I have an agreement with, also phoned in to complain. Fuck, I know that tone, it’s Tor’s tone when he won’t budge from his decision. I just wish Freya had told me before about this agreement she did with her fucking agent.
I nod, letting Tor know that I agree, but I will fucking make sure that whoever goes with Freya keeps me informed of everything, twenty-four seven.
“Do you have any idea who is threatening Freya?” Garth asks, which has Dag explaining about our meeting with the kid yesterday.
When Dag finishes his recounting, Tor stands. “Eirik, you and Garth are with Freya today. Dane, you go with Dag and see if you can find this woman the Desperados are after. Asgar you’re with me. We have to meet with the Agent.”
My mind won’t be on finding this fucking woman that Dag is so desperate to save. I would rather be with my mate. Fuck, I swear I should have killed that son of a bitch that thought he could kiss Freya. Then I wouldn’t have this problem. With my arm around Freya’s shoulders, I pull her closer to me, kissing the top of her head. “Be good today,” I murmur, which has her glancing up at me and shrugging.
“I’m always good.” I have a feeling that she is, but it’s the men around her that I don’t trust.
“Let’s go, Brother,” Dag calls from the door
“Why the hell are you in such a hurry? It’s not like we even know where to start,” I ask as I lower my head to kiss Freya’s lips gently before standing. On my way out, I look at Eirik. “Keep me updated,” I order in passing, but I know that he heard me and knows exactly what I’m talking about. I’ve only been with my mate for a short time, but I already feel the change in me. I know that she will make me a better person and I will want to be better for her, but I think until that happens, she will have to be patient with me because I know I can be hot headed and explosive—a combination that isn’t easy to live with.
