I relaxed and then tightened again, creating my own rhythm to match his. His strokes shallowed, and he met my gaze with a feral intensity that had me tripping closer to the precipice.

“Are you going to come for me?” I repeated his question, and the heat in his eyes turned from a smolder to a blaze in an instant. Apparently, that was all it took. He pulled back so he was on his knees and held my legs up in his hands. Each stroke bordered on brutal, and I fucking loved it. Seeing him look down to where we were joined, feeling him swell inside me gave me that last shove into nirvana.

I came on a long moan, which set him off in return. He grunted his release, strokes becoming erratic and shallow. The pleasure dragged out, ecstasy coursing through my veins as I watched Varon reach his peak.

As our breathing began to even out, he let my legs fall to the bed and leaned down to kiss me. It held a wealth of meaning, and I didn’t have to ask for an explanation. This wasn’t just sex, and it wasn’t just caring, it was something deeper.

I had a good idea what it was, but I was too afraid to acknowledge it, even in my own head.

When he gathered me to him and drew my thigh across his hips, I rested my head on his chest. We lay there in silence, that forbidden “L” word floating through my mind.

I awoketo the murmur of voices, my muscles sore when I stretched.

“I told you to keep it down or you would wake her, idiot.” I rolled over to see Remy’s frown as he admonished Sam. “You know she hasn’t been sleeping great lately.”

He actually didn’t know that, since we had only just started talking again. But how did Remy know? I looked to Darrio, realizing the answer. Apparently, they had decided to share notes on me with each other. I didn’t know how to feel about that. It could make winning arguments against all four of them pretty difficult.

“Hey, Red.” Darrio rose from his seat at the end of Sam’s bed and came over to sit on the edge of Varon’s. “How’re you feeling?”

“I’m fine.” I could feel my cheeks burning, but Darrio didn’t seem to mean how was I feeling after two rounds of spectacular sex that hadn’t included him. “I really need a shower, though.”

“You can use ours, Puff.” Sam yanked a t-shirt and some sweatpants out of his drawer and brought them over to me. “Here, take these.”

Varon had disappeared while I slept, so I held the sheet to my body as I rose from his bed, wrapping it around me as I made my way to the bathroom. I set the clothes Sam had provided on the counter, and I couldn’t resist taking a second to look at all their products. They were almost as bad as me, the surface of the counter barely visible in some areas because of the amount of colognes, lotions, face washes, and myriad other toiletries.

I picked up one of the cologne bottles and took a sniff, and it was like breathing Sam directly into my lungs. It was tempting to try to make off with the entire bottle, so I could always have that delicious smell with me.

I dropped the sheet to the floor and stepped into their shower. As I lathered my body with someone’s soap—Varon’s, from the scent—I turned my mind to more serious concerns.

This was my chance to talk to them, to finally reveal the truth of everything. I wasn’t sure where Varon had escaped to, but even if he didn’t come back right away, I needed to get everything off my chest while I still had the courage.

I was petrified.

What if learning what I had done changed their minds about me? Remy would be fine with it, I was sure, but what about Sam and Darrio? Would they be able to understand why I had done it? And why I hadn’t said anything before now?

No point in wondering. I was about to find out.

The shower was quick, washing the scent and stickiness of sex from my body. My hair was a lost cause, so I rinsed it as best as I could, and it would just have to air dry when I got out.

I dried myself off and pulled on the clothes Sam had given me, very aware of the fact I didn’t have any panties on. I was sure they would all be very aware of it, too.

When I walked back into the bedroom, all three of them were exactly where I had left them. Their gazes had a serious quality, and trepidation slowed my steps.

“What is it? What’s wrong?”

“Nothing’s wrong, Red. We just need to talk to you.”

“More like you need to talk to us.” Sam patted his bed, and after a slight pause, I walked over and took a seat beside him. Darrio turned to face me from the end of the bed, and Remy scooted Sam’s desk chair closer. “Something’s going on with you. It has been for a while, and it’s time to fess up.”

I sat cross-legged on the bed, my hands in my lap. I looked down at them, thoroughly intrigued by my fingernails. Steeling myself, I met their inquisitive gazes.

“I killed four men.”

I stiffened, awaiting their reactions.

Silence stretched between us. I waited for one of them to speak, sweat gathering beneath my breasts and under my pits.
