“She loves to plan a party,” I agree. “Our release parties are epic. I’m not even going to lie.”

“I can only imagine what kind of damage she could do for a wedding,” Taylor sighs.

“Okay, wait. Let’s not have me walking down the aisle just yet,” she says, placing her hand over her heart to calm it. “No one’s asked anyone out just yet,” she points out.

“Well, Logan has,” Taylor says.

“Maybe it’ll be your wedding we’re planning,” Jade says, swinging her eyes my way.

Unable to hide the smile from spreading across my lips, I press them together. “Alright. Let’s not get anyone’s hopes up,” I chuckle, waving off the idea.

Jade’s brow jumps. “Too soon?”

I wet my lips. “I think so.”

“But it’s not out of the question. Is it?” Taylor asks, with curiosity.

“You mean because of what happened with Nick?”

She nods.

“Honestly, now that I look back on the whole Nick thing, I think I always knew it wasn’t going to work between us,” I admit, reaching for my wrap on our way out.

“You weren’t the right fit,” Jade says over her shoulder.

I nod.

“Now you and Mr. Athlete,” she sings. “Girl, the sparks are off the chart with you two.”

“You think so?”

“Have you seen the way he looks at you?” Taylor says, holding the door for me to pass. “It’s like something straight out of a romance novel.”

???

Seeing Logan standing at the breakfast bar waiting for me, my heart somersaulted in my chest at the way he looked at me. The girls were right.

Venturing this way, my cheeks flush with heat.

“Hey,” he says, his mouth hitching up in a sexy smirk.

“Hey,” I reply, as he sits on the lounger next to me.

“How was the rest of your night?” He asks, moving into my space.

Following his hand, as it moves from his space into mine, it rests on my thigh, not too high, but sitting there somewhere in the middle. “Let’s go for a swim,” he said, rising from the lounger as he removed his shirt.

Even though I’ve seen him without a shirt over the years, it was still a sight to behold. Watching the way his biceps bulge as he moves, he tosses his shirt onto his lounger and holds out his hand.

“C’mon, it’ll be fun.”

Looking up at him, Logan licks his lips as his gaze floats toward the pool. “Sure why not? I shrug, taking his hand.

Pushing to my feet, it suddenly dawns on me I would also have to take off my wrap and the shorts I wore underneath in order to get into the pool. Nervously pushing my hair over my shoulder, I slipped off my shorts first, then my wrap. Standing here in just my bathing suit,my skin heats the moment Logan drags his gaze down the length of me. Shaking his head slightly, he grips the back of his neck. “Jesus, Steph,” he breathes, running a hand over his freshly shaved skin. “You look beautiful.”

Swooning just a little, everything inside of me wants to melt. Wishing more than anything that I could run into his arms and press my lips to his, I cleared my throat. “Thank you,” I whisper, a smile pulling at my lips.

With Logan’s hand in mine, he helps me to the edge of the pool. Glancing at him from the corner of my eye, he smiles softly before he says. “How do you want to get in?”
