CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Something a Little Racier

Stephanie

Two days have passed since I pushed past my insecurities and it’s meant the world to have Logan back in my life. I’m laughing again and it doesn’t hurt as much as I thought it would as we traveled down memory lane together.

Climbing out of the shower, I fought off another yawn as I sat under the shower spray. Sifting through the events of last night, the lack of sleep was a small price to pay for the fun night out with my friends and Logan.

Returning to the room, I found Taylor laying out a change of clothes.

“There’s plenty of hot water if you want to grab a shower before Jade gets here.”

“Thanks,” Taylor says, scooping up her clothes. “Can you get the door if she arrives before I’m out?”

“You go ahead. I’ve got this.”

Listening to the click on the bathroom door, I reach for my luggage as I replay the memory of my massager falling out of my bag. Double-checking it’s secure in the pocket, I dig out a clean bathing suit. Opting for the black solid split backless swimsuit, it was the closest thing I owned to a bikini.

Slipping into the garment, I admire my reflection in the mirror as someone knocks on the door.

“Coming,” I call, glancing towards the bed for something to cover myself up with.

Seeing my wrap buried under a pile of clothes, I knew I didn’t have time to grab it.

Damn it.

Rushing to the door, I hit the electric button to let Jade in.

“Morning,” Jade sings. “I brought coffee,” she announces, holding up the tray with three brews.

“Give me,” I begged, bringing her into our room.

“Girl, look at you,” she says, eyeing my suit. “About damn time you get out of that comfort zone and into something a little racier,” her voice raises a few octaves.

Biting my lip, I shook my head. “Obviously, I’m not going out like this. I didn’t have enough time to grab a wrap.”

“And then you’re going to ruin it,” she huffs, extending me my coffee.

“I thought I smelled coffee. Gimme,” she says, reaching for her cup. “This one snores,” she laughs.

“No, I don’t.”

“Don’t you?” She raises her brow.

“Maybe a little,” I shrug. “I’m sorry. The fresh air is burning me out.”

“Is that what’s burning you out?” Jade chimes. “You sure it has nothing to do with Mr. Athlete?”

Giggling behind my cup, I rub my lips together as Taylor says. “You talk in your sleep, too,” she mumbles under her breath.

“Okay. There’s no way I talk in my sleep.”

“Well, you did last night.”

I’ve always been a heavy sleeper and an avid dreamer, but talking in my sleep was a new one.

“What did I say?”
